It has to start somewhere and usually it starts with just one! Wink
Time, obsession and accumulation will take care of the rest! Smile

Ok well it took a very long time, and alot of frustration, nail biting, hair pulling, cussing and searching...but today I finally got my brand new LEFT HANDED USA Select Series Jackson RR1 Blue Ghost Falmes!!! The only one on the planet, at least that I could find. So here is a picture of it. Yeah it's not a Jackson Case because when the dealer got it from Jackson the case was broken so rather than risk damage to the guitar he packed it in a Dean case. I will probably never find a Left Handed Jackson case for it...but that won't stop me from looking.

Hey buddy, I feel for you I really do. It took me 3 years to get the guitar you see pictured above. I have been dreaming of owning one of these for almost 30 years. Being left handed it makes it even harder for me to find any guitar worth buying and when I do the dealer will usually stick it to me. I'm not rich by any means and have had more than my share of hard times.

But don't give up hope, keep on playing and keep on saving so that when you do finally get the guitar of your dreams you will know what to get and how to play it and it will be all that much sweeter.

At least you probably won't have to dream and wait as long as I did...lol.

From one Jackson fan to another, awesome piece... That finish works great on a Rhoads.. Ig this is your first, welcome to the family !

I know the southpaw Jacksons are difficult to find, I am so glad I play right handed. The DK2 is now produced left handed, too, if you have not tried one, do not underestimate the Japanese Jacksons..

By the way.... We lefties are the only people on the right side of their minds....

Well thank you! Technically this is not my first Jackson. I had a Right Handed Jackson Rhoads Performer PS-3T that I just switched the strings on and played upsidedown. It was cumbersome and had all the same pain in the butt problems you get from doing that.

The knobs are under your arm so when you strum you turn your volume down, the bar was on the top so it got in the way, the strap buttons were on the wrong side so if you weren't careful the guitar will fall forward and hang down to your knees, the large wing hung really low and precariously waiting to get all dinged up, and lots of other irritating things.

I did like how it played and sounded however so the experience didn't put me off Jacksons one bit. I did consider the Japanese Jacksons however they do not make any of them left handed with the exeption of the Dinky you mentioned and I really wanted a neckthrough. I could have gotten a Left Handed Soloist from the same dealer for about $300 less, but I figured why not get the one I really wanted since I had the money, barely..lol.

Well I plugged it in and all I can say is what I have been playing all these 30 years now sounds like what I was trying to make it sound like all this time. This is by far the best guitar I have ever owned or even played and it sounds great on my set up, simple as it is...

Now I just need some 4x12 cabs to replace the stereo speakers I'm using to get by with, even though they sound great, they aren't very road worthy Rolling Eyes

Here are the three guitars I currently play.

The Fender Strat is made in Mexico but has US-made noiseless pickups and a floating tremolo

The acoustic is a Takamine G Series EG561C. It was my first real guitar and the one I learned on when I was starting out. It needs a set-up on it; the strings sit really high...but I guess that makes my fingers stronger. Laughing Anyway sorry for the glare on that one; it looks weird but the body is actually just solid black.

My favorite is my Gibson Explorer...everything is stock on it, and it has a great set-up. It has mostly a dark tone, but it sounds good for classic rock stuff, too.

Nice. It may be a Japanese Jackson, but I'd rather have one of those than most other Japanese guitars. Hell maybe even a certain overpriced american brand that I happen to have a terrible dislike for...lol.

I ordered a 412 cab today...will post pics when i get it.

Ok well I got my Cab and a couple other goodies now so I thought I'd post a pic of my half stack, hoping to make it a full stack soon Very Happy

I added a Korg DTR-1 Tuner, Behringer dual 15 Ultragraph EQ (to pump up the low end), and a Furman power conditioner. It sounds pretty sweet and my neighbors really hate me now, just need to train them to pound on the wall in the right tempo till I find a drummer Rolling Eyes

If you ever get a chance you should try a BBE Sonic Maximizer, they're cheep to buy and only have two knobs per-side but they really add a lot of kick and tighten up your sound, they're great.
