Oooh this is a hard one and it makes me wonder what would Ronnie choose! I guess what I'm saying is - it's impossible...
So I made a top. Song by song... Here it is, I hope it will give you a clue about how much I like the songs, comparatively:
1. Stargazer - the greatest song of them all...
2. Heaven and Hell
3. Shame on the night, Don't talk to strangers, Children of the sea, Lonely..., Die Young
4. (very close) Tarot Woman, Holy Diver, Stand up and shout
5. Starstruck, ALITB, Straight through the heart
6. Invisible, Caught..., Rainbow in the dark
7. Run with the wolf, Lady Evil
8. Gypsy, Wishing Well
9. Do you close..., Walk Away
As you can see, I have strong favorites on all albums; and even if "Holy Diver" doesn't have any song on the first two places I'm tempted to say it is my favorite album. It's really... impossible to vote. |

Heaven And Hell, no question about it.
RR isn't a great album overall, just one or two good to middling tracks, so it's a toss-up between H&H and HD.
Again, HD is a superb debut but well beaten by H&H which just oozes class from Neon Knights to Lonely Is The Word.

I have to say Rainbow Rising there is a masterpiece of a song on the album and this is my favorite song from Rainbow Stargazer. The power in Ronnie's voice. I get chills when I hear this song it has to be turned up as far as the knob will go. What a great singer and album. _________________ If you wish hard enough you might be surprised what awaits you at the end of the rainbow! |

Definitely Holy Diver, secondly Heaven & Hell.
What is interesting about Rainbow Rising is that the songs are creative with long length, so it's certainly the most interesting album of the three. But not the best.

Voted for Rising because of three things:
1. it was the first for me from these three
2. Stargazer!!!
3. this album gave a name to my band _________________ I'll carry on to do it right, or... get out! (c) Cozy Powell
