Sabbath in Cincinnati!!!

Last night I finally got to see Heaven and Hell in Cincinnati and it was AMAZING! Here is my review of the concert below....

Pros -

+ Setlist - The balance in the setlist was pretty sweet. How they would transistion from a fast song to slower and back again kept the crowd pretty moving. Each album was represented very well
Heaven and Hell - 5 songs
Mob Rules - 5 songs (if you count E5150 as a song)
Dehumanizer - 3 songs (would have liked to see another song, maybe a TV Crimes or Time Machine.)
And of course 2 of the new ones (The Devil Cried & Shadow of the Wind, I wish Ear in the Wall would have replaced SOTW though)

+ Ronnies voice - I've seen videos from the canadian leg of the tour but just to be there in person and hear him it sounds so AMAZING.
The man has definately still got it, despite what anybody on this forum may say. Some of the commentary he had before the songs was pretty cool too. Like before they played Voodoo he made the comment that the song they were about to play was about a type of black magic that can be bought off of ebay....classic

+ Opening acts - I've never really heard Machine Head nor was I really caring to see them, but they were actually an OK act. They even spoke about how humble they were to be sharing the stage with the legendary Ronnie James Dio. I might look more into their stuff now. Megadeth though, those guys were s**t-hot and gave an excellent show. I wasn't too familiar with the new songs they were playing for their new album United Abominations but they had a good mix of classic material in there too.

Cons (Like there really could be any)

- Give openers longer setlist.....I felt that maybe an additional 15-20 minutes for MH and Megadeth wouldn't have been too much to ask. I mean Sabbath had an hour and 40 minutes while the other 2 had 40 minutes a piece. (Which it seemed like honestly that MH had 30 and Megadeth had 50).

- Tony and Vinnies solos nothing too special.....I have never felt that Vinnie (although an excellent drummer) was nothing too much of a drum soloist. Didn't care too much for the solo from Live Evil and again I wasn't blown away last night either. Tony basically had a 2-minute solo that really was just meant to open up Die Young.
A Geezer solo would have been pretty cool, but then again they are not playing N.I.B so....


Overall this was an amazing concert and I am so glad to finally see Dio in concert (first time). I hope these guys decide to stick around for a little longer.....they sounded great together
