Cheers for the info Spyke. last time I saw Alice they had seats laid out on the floor at the MEN - wanted to be sure they're not doing that! In fact, now that I read what you have said about Lamb of God, I'm happy I'll be getting there late!

still a shame you might miss Iced Earth, both me and my dad thought they successfully built up the night. Should of just had them supporting H+H.

Owens, what a screamer he is.

if you're standing watch out for piss bottles and moshpits, there was hell on when lamb of god came on.

WTF....You would not get away with doing things like that in Glasgow.
Anyway....I will be drinking while Lamb of God is on Laughing

well it IS newcastle, you can't stop the pissheads, hell half the security had a pint or 2 before the show, the only thing not allowed in newcastle arena is crowd surfing and stage bombing. I recorded some vids with me phone, if I cba i might upload em and post em sometime in the near future.

Security is good at venues in Glasgow...I have never had problems ever...at venues inside.
I thought Lamb of God would be on first Confused

I agree with Spyke, Iced Earth started things off in fine style-some great classic metal-Tim Owens and the lads were on fine form-first time I've seen them, think I'll get the new Cd (I'd love to see his other band Beyond Fear too-really like their album).
Lamb of God are not my cup of tea at all-I've heard a few of their songs-they did nothing for me and after they'd done 1 and a half songs last night I went for a cuppa tea-I was taxi driver for the night! I really don't get LoG at all and would much rather have had a longer Iced Earth set.
Anyway Heaven and Hell were amazing-whole band were a treat to watch and listen to-good stage set too. Vinnie's drumming was superb, so so powerful-drum solo one of the best I've seen and what a kit; the welcome sight and sound of Geezer thundering away on his bass is one of the wonders of metal, Tony is coolness itself while laying down some of the greatest riffs ever, IMO he is the greatest, no-one can crank the riffs like this guy, topped off with his blistering solo work-Die Young, Southern Cross, I, a superb extended Heaven and Hell and more. Ronnie was in great voice, so enthusiastic and it was a treat to see and hear him again, that voice roaring and soaring with this classic band
My God this was a superb gig, I couldn't get to sleep for ages thinking about what an excellent night we'd had.

I haven't even bought the dvd yet so as to stop me from watching it before the Brighton show. I would do the same as you but I have school the next morning. I'm gonna be shattered anyway Laughing
Thanks for the reviews Spyke and Neon Cross. Getting me even more excited.

Yeah, I'll be going with my dad and a friend of his who'll be driving us up there. I'd never be able to go with friends.......I think I know one person who's heard of Dio and he seems of turned into a chav recently.......anyway i'll make sure to take The Dio Years to play in the car and I might order the dvd tonight so I can watch it maybe the next day. Or I can beg my dad to tell the school I'm ill which I most likely would not succeed at Laughing

Here's a review from last night:

brilliant review there.

hearing ronnie shout "whey aye, newcastle" just brilliant.
missed most of mob rules because some twats in further front seats stood up leading to those behind til our view was blocked they sat down eventually.

I hope they get tendonitis from that sin!
