I think it depends on how complicated the song is. Depends too on how nailed down your arrangement is when you send it to us. Of course if everyone gets on the stick it will go quickly either way.

Doesnt really bother me either way, but if we do it with everyone working simultaneously, I will probably wait and put the vocals on last. That way I can fit the vocals and melody to the song.

Take your time. We are all a little excited, but obviously we would rather have quality in music instead of something rushed.

Also RockerBob we havent really talked. Do you have the ability to record drumtracks down there in Alabama?

haha sorry to jump in here, but this is just amazing, a band formed on the Dio forum, I would've never thought it'd happen.

*claps* Mr. Green

I think it shows just how far this board has come

I had to respond to this, this is one of the biggest reasons that we're going to try this, people who dig it are what makes it happen and we thank you for looking forward to it. I think the results will be good. I've thought about this kind of thing for years to be honest. I come here and listen to peoples links of thier material and i've always thought how cool it would be for a group of DIO fans to get together and show how they have been influenced by his work with songs of thier own, and now it's finely going to happen... makes me all excited about the whole thing. Very Happy

Ditto!

Also Guys you should send me a copy of one of you songs, a pic, and a bio so that I can put up a page on my site that people who are interested in this can go to through a link on this board to find out everything about this project and who is involved.

Ooooo coool! That's a killer idea! My story has a gimmick to it, I was in a motorcycle crash and partially amputated my left hand (fret hand) setting me back for about three years just to come back stronger then before, although regarding complicated chord structures i am limited, however my lead work is better then before the crash. I thought about doing a solo project under the name Cripple Laughing .

How bout Metal Django? Seriously, that takes a lot of dedication and love for your music to come back from something like that. You should be proud. I love to sing backup vocals too, so I'd like to add a backup vocal part too.

I am very proud of coming back as i did i really felt like i had no choice those three years were the hardest years of my life ... freaked me out but now i have much more passion for it then before.
As for the song we should layer as much as you guys want, some backup vocals will just add power to it in most cases or IMO. I have a song called Monkey Hand that has one section where i have three lead guitars going all at once and even though it took a long time working on it the result was killer, the only problem is that at that time all i had was a 4-track tape machine and the sound quality was not what I get now with the digital machine. I have plans of re-recording that song now because it was my most popular song with the locals. It was probably the most popular because i didn't sing on that one. Laughing

I was also thinking maybe we should include the forum in on the name selection. Might be a cool way to hear some ideas we may not think of ourselves.

I kind of like Stone Chalise - gives an image. We should redo your song with this lineup.

Maybe we could all pick one or two names and put up a poll to see which one people like the best.

I'll try sending a copy of Monkey Hand to you tonight, tomorrow or Saturday if you want to check it out, it's already on the wifes PC hell there's some other odd stuff crammed with guitars that I'll throw in there too so you can get a feel for how I work. Monkey Hand has no vocal track on it so you could monkey around with it too if you want Laughing The sound quality sucks like i said before but you're right we could always re-record it, i've been throwing that idea around for some time anyway because so many people liked it so well. If RockerBob doesn't want the drum spot I can take care of that to, I know two kids that are young and pretty damn good on drums I know they'd love this spot.

As for the name I would put my two pics to be Stone Chalice or Angle Bones, I'm very flexable on the name myself because it's so hard to get a hand-full of guys to all agree on one so whatever you guys want I will be cool with. I like the poll idea too.

I'll PM the wifes email add to you and if you send me yours I'll start sending some material. Last night at 11:00 pm I went out to the stuDIO and worked on that little guitar track...I think you guys will dig it, I had fun throwing some lead in it here and there and getting the feel of it. I didn't get much sleep though Laughing I came into the house at 02:00 AM Laughing Here we go! Very Happy
