Hi,
I'm a new member to this forum. I've been a fan of Dio since high school but only saw him live for the first time a few years ago when he was on a triple bill with Motorhead and Iron Maiden. I was really impressed with Dio's vocals. This was at Jones Beach in NY. I saw Dio again last year for the Heaven and Hell tour with Alice Cooper again at Jones Beach. I'm looking forward to the new Heaven and Hell album and hopefully another concert (I read on the this board about a possible tour with Judas Priest? That would be awesome!). Anyway, I look forward to reading more posts on the forum. _________________ Chris |

I first saw DIO when he opened in ELF for DEEP PURPLE a LONG time ago at The Long Beach Arena. I was one of the first in. I had planned to be in front of BLACKMORE but was eventually pushed over to FRONT ROW CENTER in Front of RJD and when he came out I got my 1st of many handshakes from him. _________________

It was late summer 1986 Sacred Heart w/Yngwe opening (and Rough Cutt maybe) at the Seattle Center Arena. Wow. My 1st show and what I remember most is the dragon's roar & Vinnies' morphing drum kit and riser. The Lock Up The Wolves show, with Voivod and Love/Hate supporting, at the fairly intimate Paramount Theatre, in the fall of '90 in Seattle was far above and beyond that confusing spectacle.

I have sadly only seen him once, that was in Hell (yes thats actually a place here in Norway called Hell, just outside Trondheim) in 2002, Killing the Dragon tour..
That was a triple bill, first Peer Günt played, then Hughes Turner Project , and finally Dio.... |

I first saw Ronnie in concert with ELF in Cortland, New York ,in '73 or '74. as I recall they had just gotten back from a tour opening for Deep Purple. They were playing at a local bar downtown. It was awesome! I could hear the band from my house three blocks away. There was a big crowd outside and standing room only inside. The fire department was there to keep the bar from becoming a fire danger.I'll never forget the emotion of the public and the electricity in the air. I had just moved to Cortland that summer, and it was evident a Star was now in our midst. I found out later it was not unusual for ELF to have these little tune up gigs, before going back on the road. I'll never forget it. I am so happy to see Ronnie is still at it. |

| first time i saw dio live was Philly 84 on video tape. I sadly yet have to see a show with DIO. A lot of his shows were never really announced anywhere, so i missed out on a lot of good chances to see DIO. However, if he comes to the states this year and is close to Chicago, i WILL be there. |

Keep your eyes on the tour section here, Dio NEVER fails to play Chicago or Milwaukee, Ive seen him in both places on many tours, my first 3 times seeing him live were in Chicago. |

| The first time I saw Ronnie James Dio perform was with Black Sabbath at the Spectrum in Philadelphia, Pa around 1981. And what a great show it was.! |
