I've only got stuff by Van Halen and I'm not interested in the others much. I'll vote for them because of Jump if nothing else. I love that song.
I heard they were approached about headlining MoR but they wanted too much money.

OMG, I had an old poster of VH with DLR shirtless with long brown hair on my wall when I was a teenager... Very Happy Shocked Very Happy . I still think during that era, he was just about the finest thing around. Those were the days when it was sexy for a man to have hair on his chest... Cool . Now guys are supposed to be slick like a chick. WTF? Confused

Anyway, this is great news and everything, but DLR looks a little gay...or is it just me? And I know I'm being picky, but the kid just doesn't belong...I'm sure he's good, but he just doesn't look right with this adult band. I wish Michael Anthony would have just done it...but then again, what do I know?

The kid is Wolfgang Van Halen, son of Eddie Van Halen.

He is 15 years old!!! 15!!

I couldn't even imagine what that has to feel like, going on tour and stuff, the pressure on him has to be crazy.

Sorry, I should have said that I knew he wasn't just "some kid". It just hits me wrong...But I'll be there for sure. I'm sure the kid kicks some major ass.

According to various web reports circulating this morning, Van Halen's reunion tour with singer David Lee Roth has been postponed indefinitely.

A source close to the band, requesting anonymity, told USA Today on Tuesday (February 20) that the 40-city tour — tickets to which were expected to go on sale this weekend — has been cancelled.

Meanwhile, Eddie, Alex and Wolfgang Van Halen's publicist — who announced the tour February 2 — said reports of a cancellation should be considered rumours until an official statement is released.

In mid-February, Roth spoke of the reunion with Rolling Stone, saying that he hopes the reunion lasts beyond the summer trek. "God willin', and the creek don't run dry, just like Grandma Roth used to say," he told the magazine in typical Roth-speak. "Barring any act of God or Ferrari… yeah. I have hope and faith, and that's more than just the name of a couple of strippers from Albuquerque."

Sources tell Classic Rock that Van Halen's performance at next month's Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame induction ceremony may also be in jeopardy.

Rhino Records has indefinitely postponed the release of VAN HALEN's "Best Of (1978-1984)", the first single-disc compilation exclusively spotlighting 1978-1984, the group's original David Lee Roth era. The album, which was originally set to coincide with VAN HALEN's March 2007 induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, was supposed to contain over an hour of remastered classics from the albums "Van Halen", "Van Halen II", "Women And Children First", "Fair Warning", "Diver Down", and "1984".

Following the shock/not-so-shocking announcement that Van Halen have postponed their US tour 'indefinitely', one of Classic Rock's American writers (who shall remain nameless) offers his own personal speculation on the reasons why…

1) Eddie is flaming crazy, and he's starting to have problems with Dave already. On top of that, the rehearsals aren't going well. Eddie can't play like he used to; Dave's voice might be shot; and if they don't come out as the band that could play the Fair Warning album, the fans are going to feel soaked.

2) Management took a look at the fans' comments on the VH boards. Seems the people don't think too highly of the sacking of Michael Anthony and Wolfgang being forced into the fold, thus it's not a 'true' VH reunion. I heard rumours that behind the scenes they're trying to make nice with Michael Anthony, but his pride is severely hurt. This might come down to making him a big money offer to take his rightful place in the band and Wolfgang will be shuttered back to school or something.

3) They've seen how The Police have reunited in a classy fashion and have already sold out every gig in a matter of minutes (stadiums are already being added, as every basketball arena is going to be filled to capacity, even behind the stage!). The thunder has effectively been stolen and VH now won't have the 'tour of the summer' bragging rights. Suddenly what once looked like a can't-miss show is already looking like an also-ran debacle.

Launch Radio Networks reports: Could VAN HALEN's performance at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's March 12 induction ceremonies be in jeopardy? A source has told the Rocky Mountain News that the planned performance might not happen, presumably due to tensions over the postponement of the group's 2007 reunion tour with original vocalist David Lee Roth. The news of the tour's "indefinite" delay broke on Tuesday (February 20), with unnamed sources confirming the story to USA Today and Pollstar, among other media outlets. According to MelodicRock.com, the proposed 40-city trek is not canceled, but put on hold until all the parties involved can iron out their issues.

No official statement has been released regarding the tour's postponement. The jaunt was reportedly going to start in Las Vegas in late April, with tickets possibly going on sale this coming weekend.

Janie Lisewski, a former adult video publicist who is now Eddie Van Halen's girlfriend and spokesperson for the Van Halen family, issued a press release on February 2 confirming that the tour was on. But her statement was apparently issued before any contracts were signed and without the endorsement of Roth or VAN HALEN's management.

The tour would be Roth's first with the group in 22 years, and would also feature the debut of Eddie Van Halen's son Wolfgang on bass, replacing original bassist Michael Anthony.

The Rock Hall induction at New York City's Waldorf-Astoria Hotel will also include Roth replacement Sammy Hagar. Whether the band would perform with both Roth and Hagar at the event was yet to be determined.

A greatest hits collection taken from Roth's years from the band is also now officially "on hold," a record label spokesperson told Launch.
