I was just curious as to what your favourite live album that Dio has sung on is?
I personally think that based on mix, song choice and vocal form that Rainbow's On Stage is the best, though Dio's Inferno runs a very close second along with evil or divine.
What do you think?

Well, there are some other live albums but, among these live albums, my favourite one is Live In Koln...

Never heard of it!? Was it only released in Germany? |
No it wasn't... it was released a few months ago in all the world... (Koln is for Cologne), GREAT live! You should buy it, you'll love it!

Ehm.. there's also a new album that is reviewed on allmusic.com Live in Düsseldorf. Is that a different album?

Yeah, they are different concerts... in the last few months went out in stores three news Rainbow live albums... they are: Live In Koln; Live In Dusseldorf and Live In Nurnberg.
Personally, among these live albums I have only Live In Koln at the moment (it is a gift that I recived from my grandmother!) but as soon as I can I'll buy the other ones too!

| I think the best is On Stage. It's Ronnie's best vocal performance on his live albums, particularly the song "Still I'm Sad". |

Live in Dusseldorf is the better one of these two.. Cant wait till Live in Nurnberg is released, hopefully soon....
But my favourite live album with Dio on vocals is Live Evil. Dusseldorf is second. |

I gotta say Holy Diver Live - I LOVE that gig, and a week before in Manchester was even better  I prefer the lower tones in Ronnie's voice that are coming to the fore now. I think it eccentuates the high notes, and it's a nicer, fuller, more rounded sound.

I must say Evil or Divine that was just a great great performance I was there and I don't know if it was because of the time it being soon after the 9-11 thing but that was just a blessed performance the only thing that could have made it better would have been if Rudy was in the band then. Don't get me wrong I love Jimmy and have been a Jimmy Bain fan for dam nclose to 30 yrs but I feel Rudy came with a breath of fresh air and it seems that Ronnie has fun on stage with him
