Yes, they're a good band. Are you just getting into older music or something? |

no, not just. I am really into 'older' bands. I am just interested to see what people who absolutely love Dio think. That's all! _________________ Here comes a fire

Well I absolutely love Dio, but more as a performer. Many of these people know all his music, where I know a lot, but just love seeing him in person. I sometimes meet him after and talk with him. He's a great guy, always there for his fans.
I enjoy all forms of music. From metal to funk to rock to disco to country to swing to big band. So that's where I'm at. |

I had never heard of them, but recently one of my uncles played me a Cars CD and I recognized three songs instantly. _________________ Weird thoughts that don't work,

Well there you go! That happens sometimes, like you think you've never seen a movie, until someone rents it and then you totally remember seeing it, but could have sworn you never did. Must've watched it late at night sometime.
I figured you must have heard some Cars, just didn't know it was by them. |

I've always loved The Cars, especially their first 3 records. I never liked the New Wave genre as a whole, but The Cars had Elliot Easton who was quite a guitar player. The dude played some short, tasty solos, had a nice biting sound (that added an edginess to the sometimes-heavy keyboard parts), and had great rythm. I also liked the odd timing of some of their tunes, as well as the quirky and sometimes abstract writing style of Ric Ocasek.
I was saddened when bassist Ben Orr died of cancer... and dashed my hopes of a Cars reunion. |

They were quirky, not unlike Talking Heads. |

It's a joke. It's a play on the typecast of Greecians, how the men are known for misbehavin' with the rear-ends of other men. And if you change the spelling to grease, that could help too! hehe |
