Well, no it's not. We aren't talking about a building. Dream Theater is the name of a band. It's a proper noun. That means its spelled correctly the way they spell it. If an Irish couple name their kid Seamus and they move to the US, it does not become correct for others to start spelling his name Shamus because they think it looks right.
Or take the 80's Aussie pop band Icehouse. They had an album called Man Of Colours. It would not be correct for me or anyone else to say their album is Man Of Colors just because that is the way we spell it over here in the land of baseball and apple pie. |

That's considered by many of their fans to be their best work, so if that didn't do it for you, then they just aren't your cup of tea. |

hehe I knew someone would say that. I guess my humour doesn't travel too well. Although I will say that this would explain wht, when someone suggested the band to me and I looked on the Internet, I couldn't find much until I saw how the name was spelt!
In terms of the album, I suppose there's no hope for me then. I thought it had good moments, but not many. _________________ Along Came A Spider..... |

I own Images and Words, Awake, Scenes From A Memory, Six degrees, Train Of Thought and Octavarium, and my least favorite is Awake! And I'm a really big fan of Dream Theater. James LaBrie sings very raw and screams alot on Awake, I'd rather hear him sing normal, as on the other albums. _________________ You're Breathless, ready to burn

If you prefer hearing JLaB sing, try his solo albums.

Maybe I have the wrong impression of Dream Theater fans en masse. Scenes From A Memory is my favorite, with Awake right after that, and then Images & Words. But I was always under the impression that Awake was extremely highly regarded among DT fans. Maybe I'm wrong. |

Agent, it's the same with DT fans as with any other band you'd care to mention, we've all got different favourite albums.

I know that. But I used to follow the DT newsgroup, and I somehow got the impression that Awake was one of the ones that was generally agreed to be among the best. I know every individual is different. There are probably some who consider Falling Into Infinity their best, but there aren't going to be many of those relative to DT fans as a whole. |

| I like A Change of Season, mainly because of the title track, and I also enjoy watching the Metropolis 2000:.... dvd, man these are really very skilled musicians..... |

Agent, that would be a great poll to hold on the respective band member's forums.
For the record, I&W was the first album I heard of theirs, but the first cd of 6doIT has to rate as my favourite.
