This album does not get half the credit it deserves. Ronnie and the boys really laid down some very heavy tracks. Came out during the birth of grunge and maybe that was why it was / is never really thought about.
TV Crimes is a classic!!!! |

as most of the metal during the 90's (minus Pantera and all that grunge stuff) it is a forgotten album to the masses for that reason, and the fact it is Dio singing. For Dio fans, def. is not forgotten but has mixed reviews, but more on the positive side (from what I've heard). _________________

I just got that album recently....and it is like an audio metal bible.
Dio, probably the best singer in metal, and Tony Iommi, probably the best guitarist in metal, made the most powerful album.
I think it is forgotten, but so is most of the good metal albums from that time.
Alice Cooper's Hey Stoopid and The Last Temptation
Ozzy Osbourne's (forgive me Dio) No Rest For the Wicked seems to also be forgotten.
Hasn't Dio been forgotten by mainstream American culture?
I think he deserves to be inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Black Sabbath personally. _________________ Chase the horizons, catch the illusion

| I thought Dehumanizer ruled, I bought it the day it came out. I was lucky enough to see them on this tour. Besides the whole grunge scene, Death & Thrash metal were king in the underground. |

Sins of the Father pretty damn heavy and just one of the songs that kick ass on this album.Hell that's why I went to see that movie Wayne's World just for that Black Sabbath tune!!!And after listening to the whole album wasn't even the best one on there!!!! |

Excellent album with some juicy cuts - especially I, Too Late, Computer God...well the whole album but especially TV Crimes - the song which led me to get into more black sabbath and led to me discovering Dio (at the time I didn't know who dio was but the singer sounded damn good...).
Forgotten - perhaps - but only because Dios live sets usually include only tracks from H&H and MR (though I only know the released live sets that can be bought so I may be wrong).
I would rate dehumanizer as being better than H&H as an album - because I feel that H&H has a few filler tracks (such as wishing well and lady evil - not bad but not great either). |

I agree --Dehumanizer is an awesome album---on several occasions I have had to play this for my fellow DIO fans and they are blown away! Definitely a forgotten gem! My favorite tracks are--"I", "computer God", etc.--well, okay almost the whole album! _________________ USA FOREVER! |

The worst song on the album (and I don't mean its bad, just can't really compare to the others) is the Time Machine Wayne's World Version. _________________ Chase the horizons, catch the illusion

Interesting thread and responses in support of this album.
'Dehumanizer' is pretty good overall, but not nearly as deep and magickal as 'Heaven And Hell' and 'Mob Rules'.
Frankly, 'Dehumanizer' seems most appealing to those who confuse mere heaviness with "quality". Yes, it remains the heaviest Sabbath album ever, but also one of the least melodic and colorful.
Only one song from it ("I") should be considered an essential part of the forthcoming tour. (If rendered effectively, "Computer God" and "After All" could also be included as an obligatory nod to the "true headbangers" that'll be screaming for 'Iron Man' and 'Paranoid' throughout the set .)
But that's all for 'Dehumanizer' in 2007, please! There are too many better songs from H&H and Mob Rules. |

It might require some patience ...
Took me about five years to fully dig 'Dehumanizer'. |

aye, pretty close, but Dehumanizer just has something extra, maybe the songwriting or overall playing, but it is def. the better album when paired with Angry Machines.
I've heard Dehumanizer off and on, so I know pretty much what I'm getting into when i bought it, just took me a while to get it since I do consider it like "Angry Machines" (which i ordered in the same package) which i don't like all that well. _________________

I think that the main difference between Dehumanizer and Angry machines, is that Dehumanizer is more memorable in that the songs stick in your head more once the CD is turned off. _________________ Along Came A Spider..... |
