Happy New Year from the Dio camp. Ronnie and the boys celebrated the New Year with a bash in Varna, Bulgaria, which also celebrated the country’s acceptance into the European Union. Ronnie was the guest of honor at the ribbon cutting ceremony at which a 16-story building side painting of him was unveiled. A fine way to bring in the New Year for sure!
NAMM 2007: This year’s NAMM Convention will be held January 18-21, 2007 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, CA. Ronnie and Craig will be signing autographs at the Engl Amps booth on Friday, January 19 at 1:00 PM, while Simon will be signing over at the Vic Firth booth at that time. The entire band will appear at the Dean Markley booth later that day from 3:00-5:00 PM.

Hello, guys!
I was lucky enough to be in the concert in Kavarna, Bulgaria. It was an amazing experience. Dio sang really well and they performed some really rare songs as I (from Dehumanizer) and the first half of The Temple of the King. The concert was exactly 1:30 hours and it was perfect. I also had the unique chance to take a picture with Ronnie James Dio where his manager itself was kind enough to shoot us. Beside this, I took many pictures in the concert - many Dio's itself and many of Craig Goldy and Scott Warren.
I am lucky now. I wish you all the same! |

Damn, well man you are out of luck for the Slash photos, sorry. My battery went to nil and I wanted to take a pic of the hand prints before I had no juice left. Not to mention I could not get my hand higher than those in front of me at that point.
I should have brought my other battery but I did not expect them to delay Ronnie coming out. Jeff Pilson spoke then Rudy and some dude I have no idea who he was.
I couldn't get there early enough to get a great position. They had it fenced off and mostly for professional photographers.
Anyone here in SoCal for LA, OC, and the IE tune into KTTV and I believe KTLA since they were both there so I believe it will be on one of their 10 o'clock news. That should be 11 Fox and 5 WB. One of them maybe channel 9.
I managed to push in and get my hand above some heads. I have not uploaded any pics yet. I just snapped off a lot. There was a lot of flash going on so some of the pics would get a glare coming from the left and my camcorder does not adjust fast.
Anywho, I took a pic or two of the hand prints as well. I will leave that mum until you see them. The dumbasses would not turn the molds around and we would not allowed to go around to the other side so those pics are upside down.
I am hungry and I need to eat and get my workout in. _________________ Smacks & Manly Thumps,

Thanks HM. What is sad is how they set this up. It was not really for the fans. They had them to either side of the building many of which had things for autographs. There was to be no meet and greet. I initially had a position that I could see with only about 5 cops in between me but right before the event started from within the Guitar Center came this gaggle of people who then lined around the inner perimeter.
After Slash had put his hands down it ended rather quickly. What pissed me off was the amount of people just standing and staring with all these people trying to take pictures they just stood and gawked. WTF! They kept telling them no one could get inside the place without a pass but those same people just stood there and blocked those with cameras from getting around and taking pictures of the hand prints so one could read the name right sided. There was nothing up there to see other than the hand prints. Some people managed to get up there and we had this line moving around to take pics but because of the others the security there booted everyone then closed the gate.
There was a lot of rude behavior unfortunately but I don't account that solely to metal fans.
Last night neither KTTV or KTLA had anything about this event. That is Channel 11 Fox and Channel 5 WB. After this was over I walked up to the booth they had setup for pro photographers. They had glued signs for each group. Some Swedish TV was there and I did see several film cameras and I did see someone speaking to one of those cameras after it was all over. The WB had some car accident that involved two Chips so perhaps that story bumped the Rockwalks. This morning Fox has nothing still. _________________ Smacks & Manly Thumps,

Devin
I have done a search of some European tv channels for clips not had any luck, same with google video and youtube..
There is no point in me checking UK news channels....just now...as all of them have gone into overdrive with bullying and allegations of racism on a live TV show.
Maybe a video will turn on youtube in a few days...I will keep checking. |

Artisan News has posted video clips of legendary metal vocalist Ronnie James Dio, VELVET REVOLVER guitarist Slash and new KORN drummer Terry Bozzio speaking at the Hollywood's RockWalk induction, which took place Wednesday night (January 17) in Los Angeles. The ceremony was held in front of the Guitar Center at 7425 Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood.
Ronnie James Dio (watch video at this location):

"This is such a special honor for me. Thank you, Guitar Center, and all the people that are involved with what this is about with charities and just wonderfulness. It's incredible for me. One of the best parts is with Terry and Slash is I'm in there with two people who I really respect and who I think deserve this so so much. So, it's great for me as well. Anyway, thanks to my manager, Wendy Dio, the best person on the face of the planet. More specially, to every person I've ever played with as a musician, wrote a song with, sang a song with, bludgeoned, did anything we did, that was the best for me. This is a part of each one of them whatever you give to me you give to each of those people. They are my part, they are my whole. So, thank you to the fans who are the best on the planet. DIO fans rock, and we rock!"

In the latest Sweden Rock mag ( interview with H &H members)
Dio reveals he has finished one third of his memoirs. He has written it with a pencil. He says looking into the past and writing is therapeutic. He has spoken to some publishers. He says it is not in chronological order and he writes it the way he speaks. |

Simon Wright will step into help out UFO...after Andy Parker broke his ankle by slipping on a wet floor. After two hospital appointments Andy had surgery today and now has a plate and some screws in his ankle. Needless to say, he won't be ready to play the UFO tour in March. We are all very upset about this.
"After much discussion between Andy and the other bandmembers the decision was taken to go ahead with the tour and play the March dates with a replacement drummer. Our good friend Simon Wright (DIO, ex-AC/DC) was kind enough to step in immediately — thanks mate!
"As many of you will know, Simon toured with UFO on the 'Walk On Water' tour (no pun intended!) and we're sure you'll join with us in thanking Simon for keeping the tour on schedule and in wishing Andy a speedy and comfortable recovery.
