Hi all.

I'm a huge fan of bands such as Iced Earth, Judas Priest and Beyond Fear for the same reason as I like a great many bands - because of the quality of the vocalist - in this cas Tim Owens.

I was just curious as to what other fans of Ripper preferred hearing him sing in.

I myself think his best recorded performance is with Iced Earth - displaying power, great range and emotion - and he seems to do a great job with Barlows material live if the clips on YouTube are anything to go by.

So what do you guys think?

...Damage Inc. & U.S.Metal... Razz ...Not on the Poll?... Cool Laughing ...Tim used to sing for local bands here in Akron, Ohio when we were kids...Anyway...I'll choose Beyond Fear because they are Home Boys here in Akron & their last album just Fuckin ROCKS!...Just saw them jam at a local Saloon here & they were Phenominal!...but all the other bands polled are great also...Tim said he was off to Europe to jam with Iced Earth...So I cant wait to hear from them!

Who were Damage Inc. & U.S.Metal? What did they sound like?

I agree that Beyond Fear are an awsome band with an awsome album but for me personally, the historical references on "The Glorious Burden" swing it (plus "The Reckoning" was the first song I heard Tim sing on and this turned me on to Iced Earth and Judas Priest - so he has a lot to answer for Razz )

...Damage Inc. was Tim's first band that I know of...back when we were teenagers!...they would perform Awesome covers such as Metal Church, Metallica, & Ripper would Nail an astounding version of JP's "Victim of Changes"!!!...I knew he was going to be a Star back then!...one Time they were playing a keg party at a Hall here on the North Hill of Akron...the manager of the place became annoyed with all the party goers & announced he was pulling the plug on the show... Evil or Very Mad ...so everyone in the audience pelted him with Beer & Hot Dogs!... Laughing ...Needless to say the Party was over... Rolling Eyes Laughing ...Then Tim joined another band here in Akron called U.S. Metal...I used to watch them jam EVERY weekend at different clubs around town...the thing I remember most was they would perform whole sets of Judas Priest & Black Sabbath!...you should hear Tim sing Sabbath Bloody Sabbath!...anyway...he sang for them for a few years along with Winters Bane, & the next thing I knew he was gone over seas auditioning for Priest!...But I still miss the "old days"... Wink

I don't own a Judas Priest album...which isn't good because I really like their sound.

I'll vote Judas Priest because I like their songs better than the other bands listed. It really doesn't matter to me because he sounds awesome with anyone.

Iced Earth for me.

No-one could take Halfords place in Priest.

I like his vocals, but I didn't care much for the music Priest recorded while he was with them. I like his album with Iced Earth, but I voted for Beyond Fear without ever hearing any of their tracks. The reason being, Beyond Fear is HIS band, not belonging to somebody else with him hired on. Therefore I think Beyond Fear will have his greatest stuff when all is said and done. It's his baby and he will be allowed to do whatever he wants with his style.
