I wouldn't be listening to Whitesnake, even if they payed me to do it.
Why burn churches when we can burn the hair of Whitesnake-members?  Oh, well... There's not enough whitesnake-members for us all, so somebody will have to burn the churches too.

I've been a fan of David Coverdale since 1975, his best albums (to my ears) are:
Burn
Come Taste The Band
Northwinds
Whitesnake
Snakebite
Trouble
Lovehunter
Ready An' Willing
Live.... In The Heart Of The City
Come An' Get It
Restless Heart
Into The Light
Whilst I think that Still Of The Night" is a great song, the image at the time left something to be desired.
The album "Slip Of The Tongue" may sound like a low point, but lyrically there were some gems, such as "The Deeper The Love", Judgement Day" and "Sailing Ships"
The "Starkers In Tokyo" album is an eye-opener!!!!!!
Maybe DC needs to sit down and start writing songs from the heart again, and musically go "back to his roots". The man's voice is well suited to that "blues/rock combo" that hallmarked the early Deep Purple Mk3 and early Whitesnake material.
When this man sings, angels weep................................

My girlfriend dressed up like one of the guys from Whitesnake for halloween...it was hilarious what our neighbours said.
I never liked the Hair Metal image, though Whitesnake is a killer band (and Coverdale a killer vocalist-something we finally agree on Sentinel)
Here people don't burn churches a lot-it rarely (and I mean rarely) ever happens! |

| I don't like DC as a person, I have met him on many occasions, and a lot of people in the industry do not have a great deal of time for him, however, you have to respect his 'commercial' achievements and the way he has re-invented whitesnake recently, this is solely down to DOUG ALDRICH IMO he has single handedly dragged whitesnake out of the gutter, even in the recent rubbish tour doug's playing 'saved the day'. HOLYMAGICA is totally correct in that the early stuff is quality, the later hair ( look at me ladies i'm gorgeous) stuff is rubbish, I mean what a name for an album 'slip of the tongue' this says it all. HOLYMAGICA is also correct in saying his voice has gone , he can't hack it live anymore, I know for a fact that the recent 'still of the night' dvd was very heavily worked on in the production stage to get DC'S voice sounding ok....he's not fit to tie Ronnie's shoe laces IMO... |

I can see similarities between the late 80's whitesnake and the eighties rainbow..both moved to a more commercial sound ...and its true to say that both had MORE FANS during these commercial periods so earned more money..but the music suffrered on both counts...and btw my wife loves coverdale in his hair band days, which sort of sums up the appeal really...DC knew exactly what he was doing and have you seen pics of RUDY SARZO at this time..BIZARRE..!! |

I haven't had long hair since 1998, it's kept to a #1 these days, in an attempt to hide the grey!!!!
