Whitesnake are a real great Hard Rock band! I agree Good to Be Bad is best record of the year! Like I said in another topic, for me David Coverdale, RJ Dio and Freddie Mercury are the greates 3 vocalist in the world (also Gillan '69-'73)!
In this my review of 22 April 2008, I said Good to be Bad is the best record of the year Wink

Not a huge fan but I closely follow a local tribute band called Slip of the Tongue.
Brilliant stuff.

Video footage of WHITESNAKE's June 14, 2009 performance at the Download festival at Donington Park, United Kingdom can be viewed below. According to NME.com, WHITESNAKE frontman David Coverdale spoke of how the performance marked the fourth time the band had played Donington, the other times being at the Monsters of Rock festival which used to take place on the Donington Park site. "They may have changed it, but the heart and soul's the same," he said of the festival. He then commented on the sunshine, saying "This is the British Riviera!"

WHITESNAKE's setlist was as follows:

01. Best Years
02. Bad Boys
03. Can You Hear The Wind
04. Love Ain't No Stranger
05. Guilty of Love
06. Lay Down Your Love
07. Deeper the Love
08. Is This Love
09. Got What You Need
10. Ain't No Love In the Heart of the City
11. Give Me All Your Love
12. Here I Go Again
13. Still Of The Night

I am always first to give DC a hard time but he sounds on Good form here...Hats off to him but Doug's lacks the passion that I like in this song...he just does not have that bluesy gene....that all Whitesnake guitarists need. The 2 guitarists in Whitesnake are not and never will be unique live Confused

I will be posting my review of
"Slide It In"25th anniversary
In the next few days.

I usually dont ask people to go and join things, but a group on facebook is rallying to get a friend of mine the gig as Whitesnakes Bass player. The guy is Phenomenal and it would be hard to find anyone better in my opinion. He is a big Dio fan, so lets show him some support \m/

Al....this is from Davd Coverdale.

I ask that you remember what it said in the press release to avoid any disappointments...we actually DO have a very short & potent list of potential bassists /singer already...this was actually in place before the announcement.

URIAH HEEP will be joined by former WHITESNAKE guitarist Micky Moody on stage at this year's High Voltage festival on July 25 at Victoria Park in London, England. Moody will be with the band when they play the whole of their classic album "Demons And Wizards".

Eric is a profesional Bassist that has played for many well know bands, and notable musicians. I would bet he is actually on this short list or he wouldnt be talking about it. He may or may not get the gig, but a little help doesnt hurt.

If he gets the gig,get your friend to have a word in the ear of DC and get Bernie Marsden back just for me. Laughing
I would be grateful.

I mean no disrespect to Doug Aldrich or his fans Exclamation

It always seems far fetched when you think of a friend hitting the lottery, and getting a cool gig like that, but stranger things have happened, and like I said he is pretty reputable. So if he does get the gig, I'll put the Bernie idea in his ear Laughing

Embarassed I never posted my review.
Turn it Up!, 17 Jun 2009 I read the reviews and the concerns about the remasters but I still went out and bought the cd.I already have both versions.I can't find anything wrong with the remaster of the UK mix, as for the US mix...its a little different but its not a poor mix.John Sykes and Mel Galley are very different in their playing thats all and of course you are gonna hear something different in the mix without Jon Lord.
Really all this cd needs is a little volume from your cd player/mp3 player/computer.
Whitesnake should never be background music, so turn it up and find the beauty again in this classic cd from Whitesnake.Credit where its due to David Coverdale for making sure the fans got something very special with this.
Its just a shame Mel Galley is not around to hear the good things folks are saying about his work with Whitesnake. The whole package, booklet, photos etc is first class and really the bonus for me was the videos. This cd is excellence if it was car it would be a Ferrari, if it was drink it would be Dom Perignon and if it was a movie star it would be Megan Fox.

Adrian Vandenberg (VANDENBERG, WHITESNAKE) is working on a new album, to be released later this year. Vandenberg also plans to tour in support of the upcoming CD.

Now that is good news....can't wait to hear some of this.

Shock horror...I am finding love for Whitesnake Shocked

WHITESNAKE, will release its new album, "Forevermore" on March 29 in North America (March 25 in Europe ) via Frontiers Records. The band's eleventh studio album was recorded, produced and mixed by Coverdale, guitarist Doug Aldrich and Michael McIntyre at Snakebyte Studios and Grumblenott Studios & Villas in Lake Tahoe, Nevada, with additional work at Casa Dala, Sherman Oaks, California.

With "Forevermore" Coverdale has reignited an explosively fruitful vein of creativity with guitarist and co-writer/producer Aldrich, Reb Beach (WINGER, ALICE COOPER) on guitar, Brian Tichy (OZZY OSBOURNE, BILLY IDOL, FOREIGNER) on drums and Michael Devin (KENNY WAYNE SHEPHERD, LYNCH MOB) on bass, and as with all WHITESNAKE's albums, Coverdale aided so capably by Aldrich opens up his heart and soul to express emotions and empathy rarely heard these days in any musical genre.

More than simply their latest release, "Forevermore" represents WHITESNAKE's no-holds-barred, most heartfelt, melodic and musically muscular excursion for many a year.

The album's release will be anticipated by the digital only release of the first single/videoclip, "Love Will Set You Free", on February 21.
