that's kind of what i was saying, too...
i was thinking, 'this could be difficult to play... so it sounds like the guitarist definitely has something going on... but i don't like it' |
I have just read your other post and I agree with your words... there's something similar at Hardcore on Tracy G work, someting industrial, something that I just dislike. _________________ THEY CAN'T STOP US, LET 'EM TRY, FOR HEAVY METAL WE WILL DIE!

The nineties were killer for heavy music and also Dio was been hit hard. I don't like it. _________________ Who cried for the children?

| Yeah, I would have to agree that the nineties were generally rubbish musicwise. However, Angry Machines is not a bad album and I still listen to it occasionally. For all that, it still isn't one of Dio's best albums. |

"Angry Machines" is not a bad album if you compare with other work of artists in the nineties, but among Dio albums it is poor. _________________ Who cried for the children?

admittedly ~ angry machines weakness seemed to be, ironically, it's off-the-wallness.
yes. 'off the wallness.'
that is the term i will use. yes.
because (never start a sentence with 'because' or use apostrphes for quotation marks) the STRENGTH of this cd/album was ALSO it's 'off the wallness'.
~ i think there were streaks of brilliance on this one.
uncharted territory ! ~
although Strange Highways had already done this, also.
not nearly as in-your-face as Last in Line or Holy Diver.
but as has been said by wiser folks than myself,
what is the point of wanting dio to re-record the same
two albums again.
i like meditating and focusing on weird Cosmopolitan magazine model pics while i listen to A.M.
just kidding. geez. where did that come from.
knock knock omg it's the fbi be back later. _________________ first in line to listen to last in line |

omg are you kidding.
90s music sucked??
94 was the golden age of alternative mainstream kick-in, my bruthuhs.
smashing pumpkins. nirvana. STP. Pearl Jam. (yeh... i mean albums AFTER the first two. give me a break, Jeremy is not their only song and can only be played/requested so many billion times)
angry machines was sort of like a catalyst ~ if you will.
a culmination of the two or three genres of music kicking
around at that point in time, the symbiotic statement
of existantialistic trans-metaphoric qausi-nihilism that
reverberated from the infrastructure of a democratic
presidency. yes. why did no one else realize this at
the time. _________________ first in line to listen to last in line |

Bought this album yesterday. I really like it. Non problems with this at all. Not as good as what followed though. _________________ Clutching to monsters in shadows, 'cos monsters always know....It's better in the dark! |

| This album has grown on me, at first the only two tracks I liked were Hunter of the Heart, and Double Monday but Golden Rules, Big Sister, and some others have really made me change my mind about the album...not his best and toward the bottom of his pile of music, but it's an ok album I'd get it. |
I agree totally... same thing with me. I liked at the first only Double monday, Hunter of the heart and wild one, but then I started to enjoy many other song as well. |

| I am totally unfamiliar with Angry Machines, but frankly I'm pretty intrigued by all of the bashing that it receives so I bought it on eBay for a total price of $7.98. We'll see how it goes. |

I just got my copy of Angry Machines today and listened to it this evening. I don't think that it is that bad, although I can certainly understand why a "classic" heavy metal fan (which I would consider myself at this point, I suppose) would regard it with disdain, and most certainly a fan of classic Dio. It is highly indicative of 1990's metal, the most striking aspect of the music being the ferocity of the songs and the playing of Tracy G, who, if nothing else, cements his place in Dio's history with his distinctive style. I cannot say that I prefer this to Holy Diver, The Last In Line, or Dream Evil, but it's not nearly as bad as I feared it might be. The worst part of it is the album cover, I believe. |

| I like Angry Machines, I wouldnt say it is bad, but its not great either. I'll probably catch some flack for saying this, but for me it was the same with Dream Evil, I WAS let down by Dream Evil AT FIRST when it came out, but now i love it. Same with Angry Machines. |
