Check out the last track..
This is Your Life. Very nice lyrics and great vocal melodies.
Another favourite from that album is Dying In America.Great song! |

Hell yeah love this album!!! !Came out in a bad time of my life and my favorite song is the first one on there!!!!Hell that's why I went to see Dio that year!!!Just to see Institutional Man Live!!!Stay out of my mind was great as well!!!!Also check out Big Sister and Hunter of the Heart!!!Which he did do live!!!!!   Also dying in America pretty good hell now I might just have to throw out Motley Crue (Red,White and Crue) and put in Angry Machines!!!! |

i must admit...
at first i didnt think it was as good...
but... after years of jammin...
it has became one of my fave albums...
Dio...
what makes him soo good... is that he grows on you...
i can remember the day... when i said its not a very good Dio Album...
but Dio...
in Time... Proved me wrong... it is now one of my Fave
albums...
so i must agree with anyone who said it was their fave album...
yes...
its one Killer Album...
This is My Life...
i must go...
but... its a Great Album...
funny how Dio... his music...
Grows on you...
i dont know what thread i am in...
this could be wrong...

Hiddensight! Please shorten your replies and leave the .... 
In my opinion I think A.M. beats sacred heart, strange higways and lock up the wolves and it equates to Magica,KTD and MOTM which get an 8/10.
This album has melody, it's very heavy and I like the production. Strange higways was a bit more unfocused and his voice mixed a bit weak.
I think the riffs just crussshh!! MAybe I like it so much coz I´m also into extreme metal.
Hunter of the heart( my favorite of the album and a class A Dio song), Don't tell the kids, Institutional man( his singing is all over the place!) and This is your life are a worthy mention. |

the four songs you call are truly great, but I really can't get into the rest of the album. When I listen to Golden Rules or Dying In America, I get in a very bad mood, I don't know how and I don't know why, but it is so. And music should make me feel good, not bad.

Another Great song from that album is God Hates Heavy Metal. Its a shame it was only included on the jap edition..
The lyrics is worth mention on this album.They are very true and honest.
He dont talk much about this album,but im sure he is proud of it.Why else would he make it ?
He must have known that people would find it strange and different from the other DIO album.But he still did it.

I had higher hopes from this album but it let me down greatly as a successor to Strange Highways. The album sounds slapped together at the last minute. I rank it right down there with The Last In Line as some of Dio's worst recordings.
Just for the record, my favorite Dio album is Lock Up the Wolves |

Do I understand that you don't like The last In Line? Why not, what's wrong with that album? By the way, Lock Up The Wolves is a great album indeed.

I'm not a fan of Last In Line at all. Mostly because it didn't and still doesn't inspire me in any way. It was a decent recording for it's time but it doesn't come nowhere close to Holy Diver as far as what motivates/inspires me. Sacred Heart was different because it was more keyboard driven and catchier songs but that doesn't mean it was bad it just was a product of it's time and the songs still move me today unlike anything from Last In Line. It's just a personal rating and in no way should reflect on how you or anyone else feels about it |
