my favorite album of Dio... Many people like Heaven and Hell more then Dehumanizer, many people think that Dio'00[Magica]-04[master Of The moon] better then Strange Highways. All i can do is give flag in your hands
Angry Machines is not standart Dio album and it's great. I love this album. I love: Holy Diver, The last In Line, Dream Evil, Strange Highaways, Angry Machines & Lock Up The Wolves - it's different albums, but i don't love Sacred Heart, and all works since "magica" - it's standart good albums and nothing else. I like to hear them , but i can't say that they are my favorite... Master Of The Moon much better, but i don't love it too, only good album... if you like too buy one more good album and you don't want to hear something different - it's your money and your problems... _________________ One day the the sun will die and night will crawl ; - )

I see what you mean, 666.I also like ANGRY MACHINES for its progresive style(especially Tracy G's way of playing guitar). My favourites ones are DON'T TELL THE KIDS and HUNTER OF THE HEART.This is interesting to challenge things that are already established; therefore, I respect that album, even if Dio don't like it. _________________ And a lady in white will bring sun to the night brighter than ever before.

| If you compare it to holy diver, last in line & sacred heart, yes it's not as good.As for my personal opinion? Lets just say it does not get that much play time at my house. |

Two of my favorite DIO's songs are in this album,'Stay out of my mind' and 'Don't tell the kids'.
If you're not well acquainted with his discography, you won't buy 'Angry machines' but if you're a'freak' with his voice, like most of us here, your money won't be wasted _________________ ...Cherokee people, cherokee tribe

| So are you saying that every person who is familiar with the dio discography will like this album? I heard someone here say that dio himself didn't think much of this album compared to his others,if thats true how could you argue with the albums creator? |

It won't be the first time i disagree with the so called'the album's creator'. Tony Martin himself hates 'Forbidden',i'm in love with it
Personal taste you call that.'Angry machines' is not one of my best of DIO but i still like it,it's his voice isn't it? _________________ ...Cherokee people, cherokee tribe

i have my own ears, and when i hear Golden Rules (begining lulabye, ending...) - this is one of the best Dio song, best music, best lyrics. Dio said that he don't like it - because this album selling very bad, because many people love only melodic albums, Angry Machines is agresive, irony, reality.... this is album for brain and for freemind people... on Strange Highways Dio said: Give Me The Choice Between Pleasure And Pain: I choice PAIN. Angry Machines is PAIN, agresive, irony and different album, if you like to hear standart har'n'heavy albym, that are clones of 2 first albums - it's good, but if you can understand private Dio album, not for maney, where he show all his feeling in 1996 year - you are not younf pioner wiht flag of white metal in your hands. When i feel bad, aggresive, irony - i hear this CD and i feel much better. When i feel too good i hear this CD and i see myself wih some irony. When you hear this album - you know: you odn't like it or you love it... when i hear post Angry Machines stuff i don't understand: some songs good, some songs not so... i try to find something new - there is no new stuff... Magica - conceptual album, but i heard many great conceptual albums (King Diamond) and Magica is boolshit kid's story if you remember "The Eye" album of King Diamond or "Graveyard" or "House Of God", "Abigail", "Them", "Conspiracy" - this is real stories. if you try to hear instrumental parts of Dio, then you can find that this par is too far from Black Sabbath or Rainbow, i don't talk about prog music or techno thresh (Megadeth, Annihilator). On Dio solo albums i can hear only one intresting instrument: Dio voice. _________________ One day the the sun will die and night will crawl ; - )

| It is my least favorite of Ronnie's albums, but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I agree with Luke that Ronnie has never put out a "bad" album especially compared to all the garbage that is out there today. It is my least favorite though. |

Hi to eveyone!! I'm new at the forum.
The only DIO album that I miss is ANGY MACHINES.
Is it good? Please share your opinion. |
no, it's bad.
only a few good songs, but they don't save the album.
but you still should buy it, to find out yourself, everyone has a different taste, and it's DIO! _________________ You're Breathless, ready to burn

Well now, isn't this perfect timing? I just got my copy from Amazon a couple days ago.
I haven't heard the whole thing yet, but it isn't as bad as I had anticipated.
So far I didn't hear anything melodic or anything I could sing to. Maybe melodic isn't the right word...I hear melody in the heaviest of Metalica or Pantera, so correct me if I'm wrong..
It so far sounds really heavy and a little scattered...but I have to listen to the whole thing and give it a few more listens...
I already know I love This is Your Life... _________________ "...you were a fool but that's cool, it's alright!" |

Everyone's entitled to their opinion. But then some of you say something stupid, like "Ronnie didn't like Angry Machines either", to back up your argument against it. Well did you know Ronnie also admitted to liking GRUNGE? Does this mean you like grunge as well? And just because the creater hates his own work doesn't make it bad. I've mention it before elsewhere on this forum that Alexander Graham Bell hated his own invention. How many of us can say that it was a bad invention?
Think for yourselves. If you hate Angry Machines, that's fine. If you love it (as I do), all the better. I happen to like variety from one album to the next. Ronnie's voice is consistent throughout his career...that's a given. But comparing Tracy G to Aldrich or Goldie is as pointless as comparing apples to oranges. |
