I would guess Tuberkulose likes the song I am a Viking or whatever the name is...She either likes it or thinks it is fucking lame...I'm curious...
I love Yngwie...I remember when he first appeared and everyone was like, "oh my God..he SHREDS!!!" (I hung out with a lot of small time, wanna be rockstars...except Leatherwolf, who actually did something). _________________ "...you were a fool but that's cool, it's alright!" |

He's a brilliant guitarist, a bit egotastical but how many rockstars aren't?

i love yngwie's energy... had a chance to see him on one of the g3 dvds...
in my opinion though, he could take it all to the next level if he would move from the late 18th/early 19th century, into the late 19th/early 20th...
you know, much more chromaticism, lush modulations... basically going from neo-baroque into neo-romantic... think rachmaninov in a rock and roll context...
and yngwie has the chops to do it...
that's what i'd like to hear from him... |

You want "Neo-Classical"; listen to Wolf Hoffmann's Classical album.
Yngwie's first album is fucking amazing, no denying that.... but he just has the terminology wrong. _________________

"Facing The Animal" is an awesome album, moreover with Cozy at the drums!
You know, at the moment I'm listening to "I'll See The Light, Tonight" from "Marching Out"... _________________ THEY CAN'T STOP US, LET 'EM TRY, FOR HEAVY METAL WE WILL DIE!

He is very talented, but I heard one of his instrumental albums in a record store in the mid 80's and it just seemed like boogie music with a break every 10 seconds and him playing the lead break.
Kind of felt like he had one descending chromatic riff he kept doing again and again. I didn't even think he was in the same league as Schenker compositionally. _________________ Bass guitarists hold it all together. |
