No problem HM. We are only here to praise the
legendary music of Dio. Cause it is timeless. _________________ Voodoo |

| Yeah - but remember you can get it in a regular jewel case too. Maybe it's for the American market? - I've only seen jewel cases here - or maybe, as Devin said it's only the special edition one. Whatever - it is a poor decision, but I still don't see how it could affect someone's review of the CD - afterall, you buy it for the music, not pretty pictures. |
It's only in America, I believe as I've only seen jewell cases over here. Now while it shouldn't affect the review too much it should be taked into account. I like having nice cases and a few liner notes and if it gets scratched during delivery you're buggered The thing is if they're going to do this they should lower the price.
On another note has anyone else seen his current setlist? It's absoloutely dreadful. |
And exactly my point. A lot of people liked vinyl for the packaging as well. When cassettes came out they obviously could not do the same thing and people complained.
The CD does not come in and out of the sleeve easy and it may get scratched yet I am paying the same as a regular jewel case.
This was an american release only as what was special about it was the lame ass so called free tickets you could get off Live Nation that did not work for so many people, me included. Besides the site being down most of the time or timing out so you could not get to it but when you did get to the screen to request tickets it would tell you that there were no tickets available in that quantity together. You were only allowed two and the site was always telling you that tickets were available. You could as well go to Ozzy's website and get numbers as well to get two freebie tickets. I tried during my period of the so called special edition and then got a number from the main site and did it with the regular public as well. Even if I had gotten two tickets I would still had said the entire process was bullshit. It was not like the ENTIRE nation was trying for a single venue in SoCal. Live Nation did not update its site information on those tickets for days.
Does it make the music in of itself better or worse? No, but it does affect the overall experience and delivery of this product. They called that tour successful in refering to the freebie tickets but so many people got screwed as well by poor implementation by Live Nation and if you think I am bagging on Live Nation just to be shitty to them I have bought tickets from them for two different Heaven & Hell events with no problem whatsoever. I have bought tickets from them several times for classical pieces. _________________ Smacks & Manly Thumps,

ZAKK WYLDE To OZZY
| Quote: |
| 'If You're Gonna Can My Ass, Say It To My Face' |
Is it safe to post in the Ozzy topic...Dusthead is not around is he
This is getting on my nerves...Ozzy can't let Zakk go!!!
Paul Marshall, afternoon radio personality and program director for 98.9 The Rock in Kansas City, Missouri, conducted an interview with Zakk Wylde (BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, OZZY OSBOURNE) earlier this week. An excerpt from the chat follows below.
Q: I need a statement from you. What is going on with all the rumors and all the crap with the Boss [referring to Ozzy — Ed.].
Zakk: "I really have no idea. 'Cause I call up and go, 'What's going on here?' I was just like, 'That ain't cool, dude.' I go, 'If you're gonna can my ass, say it to my face. Don't be doing this shit behind my back; that ain't cool.'"
Q: So there was a tense moment there with you and the Boss?
Zakk: "I have no idea. I guess we're supposed to hook up in August and do this goddamn show [at the BlizzCon convention in Anaheim, California]."
Q: The last time they tried this was "Down The Earth", and that record [wasn't that great], so I'm guessing if Zakk's not involved, it's not a good Ozzy record.
Zakk: "I have no idea. I'm just like... You could play with anybody you want. Put it this way... It's like my wife... You can be with any guy you wanna be with. But you know what?! If you're gonna be banging a guy in our bed, at least let me watch so I can enjoy it. Let me in on the skinny... what's going on here. That's just not... I don't give a [bleep] what anyone says, it ain't [bleep]ing cool. It's like, hey, you know what?! You're just [bleep]ing on me in a back [bleep]ing alley right now and [I'll] rip your [bleep]ing head off if you're gonna pull this shit. We'll [bleep]ing find out."
Paul Marshall's entire interview with Zakk Wylde can be downloaded as an MP3 audio file at this location. It can also be streamed below.
Ozzy told Classic Rock magazine in a new interview (stream audio in YouTube clip below) that he's on the lookout for a new guitar player, apparently to replace Wylde. Ozzy appeared late last month as a guest at Slash's headlining concert in Norway, where rumors indicated that he was lining up ROB ZOMBIE guitarist John 5 to take Wylde's spot. Ozzy didn't deny the rumors, saying, "Well, I'm getting a new guitar player as we speak, and everyone has been saying to me for a long time, 'Get Johnny 5!' And I tried him at one time and I didn't really give him a chance. We'll see, I don't know."
As for why he wanted to break away from Wylde, who has played with Ozzy on and off since 1988, Ozzy said, "I haven't fallen out with Zakk, but Zakk's got his own band, and I felt like my stuff was beginning to sound like (Wylde's band) BLACK LABEL SOCIETY. I just felt like I wanted a change, y'know?"
Ozzy also indicated that he was auditioning a guitarist from Greece, but declined to give further details.
The former BLACK SABBATH singer has been working on his latest solo album at his home studio in Los Angeles, He said that Wylde had recorded material for the project, but added, "I don't know if I want to use it."
Wylde seemed unaware that he might be out of a job, posting on his Twitter account, "This is news to me." |

I don't know why all the time the same comparisons between Ronnie and Ozzy.Who's better than the other one???I like them both.Commercially,Ozzy's been more succesfull than Ronnie, and that I think everyone we'll agree.I'm not jealous that he's selling millions of records and Ronnie's not, because it's not about that for me.I think that both of them have released some great stuuf over the years. And by the way,I like more Ozzy's solo stuff than his albums with Sabbath.
I bought the new Ozzy autobigraphy "I Am Ozzy".This is the funiest book I've ever read!A classic. You open the book at any page you want, and you'll find a funny story.I love Ozzy Osbourne. Can't wait for his new solo cd coming out this summer!!!!
Hopefully we'll see Ronnie doing some gigs with the Dio band this year!!! |

I like Ozzy. He created a legend of Black Sabbath with this band.A lot of my friends are Ozzy - lovers, Dio - haters. I don't understand them. I love Ozzy as a character, he is crazy, funny and he makes great show on concerts. I've bought a book "Ozzy Osbourne - Uncensored" three weeks ago and I love it. When I'll have money I'll buy Ozzy's autobiography.
I really don't like his wife,Sharon.
How many truth is in the claim that Ozzy and Ronnie hate each other? |

I used to like Ozzy, still like is old works... I guess I am stuck in the 80's when it comes to music
But what I did not like at all was when a concert near my home was announced and I happily bought a ticket, always wanted to see Ozzy live...and I arrived early to be in front row...waiting there for hours... about 2 hours before the doors would open, we were told the show is cancelled, as Ozzy was too messed up to get on stage...
That day was the day Ozzy died for me... you just don't get so messed up you can not even play for your fans. In my opinion an absolute no go. Its not the money lost, the ticket was refunded, the trainticket not, but for months I was looking forward to see him live, and then the day arrives and I got sent home. _________________ This is your life

OZZY OSBOURNE 'Scream' First-Week Sales Projected To Be Less Than Half Those Of 'Black Rain'
I wonder what the sales would have been with Zakk Wylde playing on the cd
I would be embarrassed to have this cd in my collection.
If anyone can say this is good then you are really dumbing down Metal....we deserve better than this!

I have been a Zakk fan since hearing the intro to Miracle Man off of No Rest For The Wicked, so don't think I am bashing him here.
Zakk's devided loyalties to Ozzy and Black Label have seriously taxed his creative abilities. In an interview, he even stated much of Black Rain was written with leftover riffs from the BLS album, and some of the stuff sounded like slight alterations to Randy's work. I believe he has been better served left to concentrate on his own project, able to give his all to the band he created..
As for Gus G., he is a good player, but they seem to expect him to be Zakk, Jr instead of Gus G. The 1st.. Even check out the Blizcon footage and compare it to Firewind live footage.. He even had to change his ESP Signature guitar after getting the nod from Oz...
Maybe Oz is just too comfortable with mediocrity to face change head on.... _________________ http://ladyrock.informe.com/ |

Though the Gillan fronted Sabbath was actually the first time I heard them,on late night TV if you can believe it ,it was the albums Master Of Reality and the old Greatest Hits collection that sold me on Sabbath.
I have long been a fan of Ozzy, even got to (very briefly) meet all of the original members.Got to tell Tony how much I like his guitar playing, say hi to Geezer and wish good health to Bill, who was ailing at the time.Ozzy was physically there, but was either medicated or something else.
Made me angry years later when they had that show and there he was, speaking (fairly clearly) to people who didn't give a rats ass about Sabbath, for those people he was awake and alert !
Never thought I would say this, but I wish now it had been Dio Sab I waited all day to speak to and get an autograph from,I am certain Dio would have "been there",though I sadly never got to meet him,it seems like he cared about all his fans,Elf,Rainbow,Sabbath and Dio fans.
Seems like Ozzy doesn't care about Sabbath, though he has had some great solo stuff,I stopped listening after No Rest,it is Black Sabbath that is the legend,it is Sabbath that influenced a whole genre (doom metal) into existence.Since he doesn't seem to care, for my part,Tony and Geezer could grab the singer for Count Raven or some tribute vocalist that sounds like Ozzy, call the band some Ozzy era song and go on tour, with my absolute support ! _________________ Sword of Terraroth,fantasy/sci/fi with influences of Tolkien,Dungeons and Dragons,Grimms, mythology and the lyrics and concepts of metal bands,in particular the mystical words of Dio.The rainbow shines like magic in the dark of the midnight sky........ |

I love Ozzy.
Blizzard of Ozz and Diary of a Madman are amazing. I am a huuuuuge fan of Randy Rhodes.
Ozzy also made some exceptional music with Zakk Wylde. No Rest For the Wicked is far out. No more Tears is a beautiful album as well.
Heck no, it ain't Dio's voice, but there is some amazing stuff in Ozzy's work.
I generally like the Osbournes. I like Sharon b/c she fights balls hard for her husband. I am endeared to Wendy Dio for the same reason. I like seeing any rock star with a life long loyal hubby.
I did not like however that they sued Black Sabbath. I can't stand litigious action. Of course I readily admit that I don't know all the details, but it felt very odd to me. It certainly doesn't make me want to hear new music w/Black Sabbath and Ozzy b/c the artistic integrity is tarnished to me by such actions.
-->It reminds me of Motley Crue getting back together. It seems like business, and those guys I don't see as a gang that care about one another anymore. It has become a job, and it is no more evident anywhere than IN THE MUSIC.
Ozzy's new album, Scream. I wouldn't buy that crap. I might be willing to give it a listen, but um, no thank you. No Zakk???? No thank you!
Ozzy has not put out a good album in a very long time.
It's ironic and I'm jealous. I have lots of art left for this world in my heart, and Ozzy is an artistically dead man with all the resources in the world, recording sh*t, and I can't get it together to record a song anymore. Lack of money and time have forsaken me.

Yeah,I definitely agree on the first two albums,Rhoads was amazing,Jake was great too on Bark considering the task he had.I guess mostly I am feeling melancholy that I never got to meet Dio,with the influence he was on my singing and later on my writing.
As a Sabbath fan, yeah,I guess what I feel is kind of "forsaken".We all have this big hole, this massive crater it feels like in our musical world. It just seems that Ozzy and certainly Sharon doesn't care.In a sense,Sabbath fans need him right now,but there is no talk of that, instead he just focuses on his solo stuff, which is not sounding too promising. No,he can't replace Dio,no one can,but at least fans could be given something special, something to soothe the pain.
With no chance of an original Sab reunion,I guess essentially, especially legally,Sabbath is now dead.Of course for us die-hards,Sabbath will never die !
I am no longer a fan of Sharon, but it is ironic that what she tried to do in keeping them from using the name,if there is no original reunion ,then I guess,at least fanwise (which is what counts anyway) Ronnie James Dio was the last Black Sabbath vocalist. From what I have heard, very few were chanting Heaven and Hell,no one on this earth could ultimately seperate Dio from Sabbath. |
