I am going to start something on this board. Every week I am going to post a "Vs" topic, where you can vote which album is better (Example: This first one is Magica vs. Dehumanizer) I will keep doing it until all Ronnie James Dio albums (Elf, Rainbow, Sabbath, DIO) are covered)
Feel free to leave a comment on why you voted for the album you voted for.

Okay Mr Poll Man....I mean FindTheSacredHeart 
I will go for Magica.....again 
I don't know why you got Magica up against this cd....
Maybe you should have had....it up against a cd like STRANGE HIGHWAYS....becoz they were so close together...at the time.
The results are always gonna be different...if you had
up against
Dehumanizer v Holydiver....Holydiver would win
Dehumanizer v Last In Line...Last in Line would win
Dehumanzier v Sacred Heart...Dehumanizer would win
Dehumanzier v Intermission ...Dehumanizer would win
Dehumanzier v Dream Evil... Dream Evil would win
Dehumanzier v Lock Up The Wolves LUTW would win,
See what I am getting it...
Its not really a fairway of doing it in my opinion.
When I say win...its what I would vote for.

I have to say Magica as well. Dehumanizer is hard to beat though... pound for pound.
I feel there was more thought and downright hard work put into Magica.
It's so much easier for me to compare Ronnie's work to other artists than it is comparing him to himself. Makes ya think though  |

Magica. i think it just edges dehumanizer in terms or memorability, plus, as LoreTabb says, it sounds like a lot of hard work went into it!!!

For me, Dehumanizer is worlds more interesting in sound and content than Magica.
Magica is also an odd choice to put up against Dehumanizer being that it is part one of a concept album and every song is part of the storyline.
I agree with the mod, Dehumanizer vs. Strange Highways would be a more apt comparison. |

IMHO, "Dehumanizer" is one of the best metal albums....EVER.
Comparing Magica to Dehumanizer is like comparing a Peacock feather to a Battle axe!  Both are beautiful in their own way, but serve different ends. |

Humm...very hard for me!
I LOVE both albums. Magica is one of my fav Dio albums, lots of the tunes sound very *Sabbathy* to me...one of the reasons, I like it so much, but Dehumanizer has Iommi, the Guitar GOD, on guitar!
I LOVE Craig, but *IOMMI* RULES!
Also, I think Dehumanizer took too long, was overproduced, etc. ....anyway...guess, Dehumazier wins by a 'nose'!

The comparisons are not fair in my opinion..both great cds,
Only reason I would take LUTW over Dehumanizer is how fresh it sounds and when you think how young...Rowan was a the time,that gives it a few extra bonus pts for me,also Ronnie vocal performance is top drawer on LUTW as well,as I said 2 great cds,but I am fan of Dio so the sound and band will always win before Black Sabbath...but as artcinco said if Dehumanizer was up against Strange Highways ,Dehumanizer would win but just by a nose.My loyalty was always be with the band Dio first,you got to remember I am british,and we support bands like they are a local football team....through the good times and bad....thats just the way we are. 
And with your name....I am thinking Newcastle United...don't always have a good season,but St James Park...is always sold out....thats the loyalty of the fans for you,just like me with Dio. |
