| I think I have to go with Rudy on this one. I know he hasn't been on a Dio just yet, he's great in concert. He looks like he has a lot of fun in Dio concerts. I'm really looking forward to hearing his work on the new album. NOTE: THIS POLL IS ABOUT DIO BASSISTS THAT HAVE BEEN OR WILL BE ON ALBUMS! |

Jimmy Bain has played on many Dio albums, Rudy hasn't, so it isn't a fair poll _________________ You're Breathless, ready to burn

Make sure your poll is complete
Jerry Best: From August 1995 till May 1996. Dio officially confirmed Jerry Best as their new bass player in mid August 1995. With the new member in the band they continue working with the forthcoming album. The band did also a five-day South American tour in late 1995.
Larry Dennison: Because Jeff Pilson was unable to tour with Dio because of his Dokken project, Dio hired a new bassist, Larry "Bones" Dennison, for the Angry Machines tour. Jeff Pilson replaced Larry Dennison for the South American leg of Angry Machines tour. After the release of Inferno - The Last In Live double live album, Larry Dennison returned back to the band.
Bob Daisley: Bob Daisley joined Dio for the Scandinavian leg of the Inferno tour, as Larry had to leave back home early from the tour. Larry returned back in the band for the 1999 Russian shows.
Chuck Garric: Jimmy Bain returned back in the band in September 1999 but was not able to join the band on the tours outside the USA, so Chuck Garric helped the tours from November 9th, 1999 to November 30th, 1999 and in the year 2000 from May 3rd to June 26th. After that Jimmy was able to do the non-US tours as well.

| Not just best Dio bass player, but the best bass player Ronnie ever worked with would have to be Geezer Butler. |

| ...didn't have the heart to vote...love'm all...although Jimmy Bain has certainly provided me with the most memories as far as live performances go...sometimes it just doesn't seem the same without him... |

I don't see the best bassist Ronnie has worked with on the list.
If we're sticking just to the solo material, Jeff Pilson is probably the best player of the bunch. Jimmy Bain is very good and played on the best material. Not into Rudy at all. |

Referring to you and Bobby, Geezer was never a part of DIO. This topic is not about Ronnie, but about DIO (the band). _________________ --- BURN (Dutch Heavy Metal) ---

I definitely think that Rudy Sarzo is the best bass player ever playing with Dio.
In fact I rank him as the best bass player in the world.
He's got that... everything. Rhytm and charisma.
You'll never be bored watching him in action. |

Jimmy Bain, without a doubt!!! Second, and very close behind, Bob Daisley. Rudy Sarzo?? Seen him twice with Whitesnake, crap both time. Too much "acting", not enuff bass "playing".
