About the Rainbow in the Dark ringtone, is it the actual song itself, or is it a bunch of beeps that sound like the song? I wish I had a friggin' cell phone. If I did, I'd put a Dio ringtone on it and let it ring all day! Laughing

There's both the actual song (the one I have) and a bunch of beeps that sound like the song. There not that hard to find either (for free and for money).

Dio is overlooked (I think) because of the era changes. For instance, me and my buddy's were watching the VH1 Headbangers thing, and the videos for Mystery and Holy Diver came on, instantly my buddy change the channel and say "enougn with the damn 80's, its 2006!". I think thats bullshit. Ronnie has been rocking since the first word he sang with Rainbow (no offence to Elf fans, thats one band I cant seem to get into) All the way threw Sabbath, then onto the amazing band we all know as Dio. From Stand Up and Shout (Holy diver track one) to In Dreams (Master of the Moon track 10) Dio has been the King of Metal for over 31 years, and whether it's the 70's with Rainbow, the 80's / 90's with Sab and DIO, Ronnie will remain King. As for the 2000's, it is so common to hear: "Who the fuck is ronnie james dio". You know what really pisses me off!? The damn record companies who will market a shitty metal album like Metallicas Saint Anger (2003) but won't do any sort of promotion for an amazing metal masterpiece like Master of the Moon (2004).
I am making a bet right now... if for some reason Master of the Moon was marketted as much as other (shitty) Metal bands, with Music Videos, T.V Spots, MTV Awards all the garbage- They would go Platinum for sure!! Think about it. Most Metal fans buy Slipknot albums and shit cause they know it exsists. They dont know Dio exsists cause they dont go looking for him. If Dio was on their T.V and radio, I know they would tear up the metal charts.

It's not too late for Ronnie to step back into the Limelight. With their next album, they should do all they can to get one song on the radio- it has to be done to stop the shitty new wave of metal! Twisted Evil Very Happy Very Happy

That might be true. Maybe the reason why a whole lot of newer albums haven't been purchased is because of the stupid-ass record companies. Let's say a Dio album just came out today. If I were to go to a store where music is sold, usually I don't find anything, or I see only one or two CD's. So If the record companies send out more copies to the damn stores, they might make some money! Idea I blame the record companies for not putting out much of Dio's music! Evil or Very Mad

I remember the day Magica was released. I went to the local Virgin mega store to buy a copy and they said they didn't have any copies in stock and it was unlikely that they would have any of them in.
They suggested I mail order it from them.

If it were not for the internet most of us would not even know if many of these bands still perform.

I remember more ads for concerts both in print and on the air. It was about mid 90s that I found it harder to find things. Most local stores went to this Pop/Rock category and crunched all those genres together. Of course they made room for the Latino Heat sections.

Wherehouse (sp?) a year or a few years back finally dropped that Pop/Rock and put back a Metal section.

It is much easier to find stuff but I did get tired of seeing Dinosaur Jr or wtfever that was and shitloads of Celine Dion CDs beforehand. Do they actually sell that many because everytime I look that have about two rows of them.

OOHH, I just remembered or did I already say this. I was at a wal-mart and I was curious if they had Dio or not. They had no CDs BUT they had the separator card for it and it had "DIO!!!" on it.

I know exactly what you mean! My friend at school likes the AFI scene. I don't. She also likes Priest/Sabbath and so on. She didn't know who Dio was! so i had to turn her on to it. Now she loves it

Elf is more bluesy rock, plus it's central instrument isn't the guitar but the piano/honky tonk piano.
