Or even if you just buy the one cd from them....buy
''The Black Halo''
This band is touring USA....this year...you should not miss them out...there gigs sellout in Europe!
Some video tracks from the cd ''The Black Halo''
Track '' March of Mephisto ''
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WErVlIzm8Dk&search=kamelot
Track ''The Haunting'' featuring the beautiful Simone from Epica, who are the support act on USA tour.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=29pXzXNEbbg&search=kamelot
If Ronnie James Dio is the King of Metal when it comes to vocals, then Khan is the Prince in waiting in my opinion!
I beg you to check this band out and watch the videos.
If my word is not enough.....
Checkout the reviews ''The Black Halo'' has on Amazon.com
This band is from USA....NOT Europe!
A review of ''Black Halo''
March of Mephisto - 6 out of 5 - 5:29 - An amazing start to an incredible album. This is one of the best opening tracks i've ever heard, It serves as preview of things later in the album. Some may or may not know but Shagrath of Dimmu Borgir has a small guest appearance through out the song. I love the tempo change roughly 3:13 into the song. This is easily my fav song on the album.
When The Lights Are Down - 5 out of 5 - 3:41 - Old Skool meets New Skool Power Metal. This song has a classic Power Metal feel to it, The Orchestral arrangements though small give it a much more original then your garden variety Power Metal band.
The Haunting (somewhere in time) - 5 out of 5 - 5:40 - Solid/Melodic Rock, I always sing along with this song due to its extremely catchy Chorous. The beautiful male & female vocals are enough, But the band doesn't let that stop them from giving their best. Classic Metal Guitar Solo included.
Soul Society - 5 out of 5 - 4:17 - Melodicly Heavy is the key to this beast of a finish for the first part of the album. You'll be singing along "How Can We Beleve In Heaven" in no time. And at around 2:55 into the song begins an excellent tempo change and incorpirates a small part of Classic Accoustic Guitar.
Interlude I - 4 out of 5 - 0:57 - A quick break after an excellent begining, The Interludes are very well done and always blend into the before and after track well.
Abandoned - 5 out of 5 - 4:07 - One the best Power Metal Ballads i've yet to hear that starts out extremely melodic and slowly the music picks up. The vocals are amazing, Khan truely shows his worth here, With excellent song writing and vocals. At about 2:26 the song begins to quicken and soon the drums kicking in leading into a ballad of epic porportions
This Pain - 5 out of 5 - 3:59 - Excellent Power Metal Rocker, One of my fav songs on the album and some of the most interesting guitar work on the album. Khan uses some minimal vocal effects during this one give his tone a sort of dubbled over sound. But as I said its the guitars that shine here some of the most original on the album.
Moonlight - 5 out of 5 - 5:10 - Amazing straight forward Power Metal classic, The chourus alone makes this song a 5 pointer. This is one of the tracks where the Bass gets a more central role and it works well and makes the guitars soo much better. This song has a very melodic and almost mystic feel to it
Interlude II - 5 out of 5 - 0:40 - I love this interlude because it just stands out and has a Gypsy type feel to it.
The Black Halo - 5 out of 5 - 3:43 - Back to basics here as the Title track is just your common Power Metal rocker.. Though common its done so well that its actually better then your common Power Metal filler track. Easily my fav guitar solo on the album is within this one,
Nothing Ever Dies - 5 out of 5 - 4:45 - The band seems very together here, Its just a plain out rocker.. No glam just pure head banging obviously to get you ready for the next track..
Memento Mori - 10 out of 5 - 8:54 - This song takes a piece of everything heard on The Black Halo, From its more melodic parts to its more epic parts and the heavier sides of the album. Shagrath came back to add guest vocals once again on this masterpiece. This is a MUST HEAR track.. It just builds up and builds up and builds up and then finally lets loose.. This is a song of Classic value and should be respected as one of the greatest Power Metal tracks ever.
Interlude III - 5 out of 5 - 1:21 - This interlude infact plays everything you've just heard backwards and sped up, Its a nice lil break after that last song.
Serenade - 5 out of 5 - 4:44 - I was expecting this to be a very melodic end.. Well I was right and wrong, This is a very Melodic Power Metal Jam to finish it off, and it works well keeping a steadily heavy and classic power metal feel through out, This is the way Power Metal albums should end. Has some very interesting guitar work through out to finish up this amazing album.
All in all I feel that Kamelots The Black Halo should have been and to me IS 2005's album of the year. This is one of the most Original Power Metal albums ever created and they did it flawlessly. Kamelot is now easily my fav Power Metal band, Their next album will tell if they are worthy of being among the Power Metal warlords (Iced Earth, Dragonforce ETC..) But if they get better then this.. Well we may see new KINGS of The Power Metal Genre. Keep your fingers crossed for an American tour.. Cause these guys are going to blow away America if they come through. |

Did you get ''The Black Halo''!Cool......the other cds....I like is well are ''Epica'',''The Fourth Legacy ''and ''Karma''
I will get round to buying the others....
There is a live dvd coming out soon....but not sure of details...the only information I have is this KAMELOT are continuing to work on their first DVD, "One Cold Winter's Night", which was shot in Oslo this past February. "There is a lot of editing for our director Patric [Ulleaus]. We have 18 cameras on this shoot and the concert was nearly 2 hours long," stated vocalist Khan. The disc will include special guest appearances by Simone Simons (EPICA), Sascha Paeth and Snowy Shaw (ex-KING DIAMOND, DREAM EVIL), plus many others.
KAMELOT will return to Holland for two shows this summer — Waldrock festival in Burgum, the Netherlands on July 1 and a headlining show at the Plato in Helmond (near Eindhoven). Many fans will be travelling from outside of Holland for this concert and the band plan a special meet-and-greet for this show.
In other news, KMI Entertainment and KAMELOT are working on the band's first trek to China. "We have been contacted by a few promoters in Hong Kong and we hope to arrange KAMELOT's unique live show," stated KMI's Tim Norwood.
Also on the KAMELOT-related front, the first-ever KAMELOT anthology, "Lunar Sanctum", will be released by Sanctuary Records. It will feature some classics as well as unreleased live cuts from the band's last concerts in Tokyo. |

KAMELOT's official web site has been updated with a short interview the band's webmaster conducted with the group's guitarist/mainman Thomas Youngblood:
Q: You have two shows this coming weekend, tell us more? Will there be some special guests?
Thomas: "We are heading to Amsterdam for the Waldrock festival and a headliner show the Plato in Helmond, Netherlands. These shows will feature a rare appearance of soprano vocalist Mari on some of the songs as well as Elisabeth Kjarnes. They both sang on 'The Black Halo' and we are pleased to bring them with us this time. Also, I heard our very good friend and colleague Simone from EPICA will be at the Helmond show. This show is looking like a big party, literally that is. We have a meet-and-greet after the show which should be lots of fun. Our news friends XYSTUS will support along with Dutch newcomers SEVENTH SIN."
Q: How was the Sweden Rock Festival? We heard it was a killer show by you guys?
Thomas: "We are still re-living the Sweden Rock show two weeks ago in Sölvesborg. It was a great time on stage and seeing the fans before and after the show. The signing session was cool, we met fans from Italy, Japan (the sake is great, thanks!) and many other countries outside of Sweden. For the stage we arranged some pyros with our friends in Sweden and we heated up everyone in the front row. Also playing a festival with some legends is really cool, WHITESNAKE, DEEP PURPLE, JOURNEY etc..."
Q: Any news on the new album?
Thomas: "Following the Dutch shows we are meeting with Sascha and Miro in Germany to discuss and review the new songs for the follow up to 'The Black Halo'. No title yet folks but we have nine songs finished and will add 3-4 more before all is said and done. We are hoping for a spring 2007 release followed by a huge tour of Europe, Asia, South America and North America. The time off has been essential to having new ideas and inspirations for the next release. "
Q: What is the expectations so far to the North American tour?
Thomas: "Well, I hear the presales are going very good for the upcoming tour in September with special guests EPICA. Its coming very fast but we are 100% ready to rock the U.S. and Canada. Thanks to all the fans in the U.S. and Canada for buying 'The Black Halo', this has made the tour possible. We expect some of our best gigs ever on this tour, we have a great package for the fans and the shows will be fun and energetic." |

...More gothic theatrics...NO guitar solos...once again...sounds more like opera to me...& there's NO way that I would put this guy anywhere close to being in the same class with Ronnie...I prefer Traditional Metal...Guess I'm set in my ways... |

And you wonder why....Metal has no market in USA!
This band is American...and has to come to Europe to make it!
Time for you guys to step into the year 2006!
The thing is Bobby its fans in Europe that are buying this stuff as well as Dio!
I now understand why American record companies will not take risks with bands in USA....for the first time. |

...Sorry HM...just being honest...I like vintage sounding Metal...DIO...Sabbath...Maiden...WASP...AC/DC...Tim Ripper Owens & Beyond Fear is "new stuff"...I love that kind of thing...I think that the markets problem over here...is that it was almost ruined by the L.A. big hair/gay looking bands of the 80's...& all the "world sucks" grunge music of the 90's...people became embarrassed & overwhelmed...& on top of that...the media here in the U.S. has the younger generation "sold" on some wannabe this & that image...they're not selling music for the most part over here nowadays...just an "image"...I know, I know Holy Magica...it's fuckin SAD!... ...If people would only just close there eyes & open their ears???!!!...LONG LIVE RJD!!! |
