Me too! Razz I've always wanted to own one because i'm sure it would take some getting used to.
Myself i like Richies work but The Malmster is truely in a class by himself, i was watching a video of him a while back when it dawned on me that he was playing the same licks in several different songs.. made me fell good to see that he IS human! Laughing
Saw him at the Roseland Theater one light in Pooland in the late 90's... unbelievable show that night never seen anything like it... the closest thing that i dug even more was Steve Morse with DP that was killer! But each guy has his own thing and i have a real hard time drawing lines between them. Confused

At first, I thought the same thing that it would take a lot of getting use to the scalloped neck, but surprisingly it takes very little. Fingers and hand quickly adapt to it like right away. There is less resistance with this type of neck. The other neck that offers less resistance it the Wizard neck(s) by Ibanez. They are not scalloped but the necks are the thin.

The only thing I didn't like about this Fender is the bridge pickup. It doesn't have that bite to it. So I'm taking it out and replacing it with Dimarzio -SD or Seymour Duncan -Hot Rails. Yngwie uses the neck pickup 80% of the time, and put all his attention on those pickups.

When I get around to it, I'll post something on youtube Bobby. Then I can read all the negative responses in Commentary lol.

excuse me but ritchie can keep up with him at his worst day !!...

...Do you play Guitar Reem?...can you say Sweep Arpeggio?... Laughing ...no really, I love Ritchie...but I have never seen or heard him pull off some of the most astounding fretwork to date that Yngwie submits...I'll tell you what...you offer me a link to a piece of music by Ritchie Blackmore that you believe to be his most incredible effort...check out You Tube maybe...then I will reply...GAME ON!... Very Happy
i'm just saying what i think...
and you should know that the secret in music ain't how fast it is.
personaly i think ritchie can do fast like malmsteen but it's just ain't his style that why he doesn't.

...Oh, & by the way...Guitar World Mag recently published an issue with Yngwie on the cover...citing the worlds "50 fastest guitar players"...they actually "clocked" their entries somehow to obtain the results...& Ritchie was NOT on the list...PeacE out...

well that's just nonsense!

... Rolling Eyes ...well there's a scientific answer for ya... Laughing ...yeah i'm sure Guitar World was mistaken... Rolling Eyes ...& you didn't answer any of the questions I asked or provide us with any kind of response to show that you may have a clue what your talking about...until then, I'll assume that you based your answer on personal preference...facts are facts...Yngwie is obviously by FAR the more skilled player!... Razz Laughing

I myself think Blackmore is the better of the two as he plays from his heart with feeling. Malmsteen plays scales as fast as he can with no heart besides being the biggest asshole ever. Listen to the guitar work on made in Japan...show me Malmsteen play anything remotely like that with FEELING. The Rainbow live disc is another good example, Kill the King, 16 century greensleves...fuckin rippin guitar work. Don't get me wrong, Malmsteen is a great player but Blackmore PLAYS great...j/m/o

...C'mon Rocker, Yngwie's playing has evolved far beyond just burning through scales, he's very capable of playing w/ furious emotion...I'll post some examples later...furthermore...ANY half schooled player can improvise emotion/feeling as you stated simply by choosing the appropriate mode & bending/sustaining the right notes...it's NOT rocket science man... Laughing ...but what Yngwie does, FEW can master!...again, personal preference is one thing...a person's ear likes what it likes, but when you refer to dexterity/technique...again, Ritchie cant touch Yngwie Malmsteen...

Check out Chris Impellitteri. He does what Yngwie does, but faster..

Speed is cool when necessary, but you can't do 865 in a school zone.. Malmsteen can't solo to a ballad to save his life(we won't even discuss his whiny nasally tone).

...yes he can...geesh...who cant?!...soloing to a slow ballad is child's play...do you really believe that with all the 6 string acrobatics that he pulls off that he cant bend strings...Bah!... Laughing

Cloning
-results may vary. i.e. Chris Impellitteri
This guy even plays a Fender Strat and wears Malmsteen's cloths and reveals his chest like Malmsteen. I conclude that Blackmore or Chris Clone have no signature guitar while Mr. Malmsteen does, says it all.

... Rolling Eyes ...nick...now if you play you already know what kind of time & effort it takes to develope ones own chops etc. ...but naturally if one focuses on a particular influence extensively then that will be present in ones style. Chris was cited as being the fastest of GW's 50 if I'm not mistaken...they actually clocked notes per second... Wink ...I am currently soaking up every thing I can by Mr. Tony Iommi...actually I have been for years...but just more recently getting organized...

That's right. There are many Iommi clones aswell, but you are going for the original. People don't seek the carbon copy.

They both have signature Strats as well.
