I have found that David Fenstein (guitarist of "Elf") is the cousin of Ronnie James Dio and, at the moment, he is the guitarist and the leader of his own band "Fenstein". Why doesn't he work for a project with Ronnie? It could be a good idea...

Ronnie discussed this very idea a few years ago. He said it would happen when and if time allowed for it. Personally I think Ronnie is too busy and it will never happen.

Yes, I think so... I must buy the album of Feinstein, the cousin of Ronnie...

Dave ("Rock") Feinstein owns a restaurant in Cortland called The Hollywood. He is an excellent guitarist; and he is even shorter than Ronnie! When they were in Elf, you should have heard them rock! It wasn't heavy metal. Check out their albums. Good stuff.

The last Feinstein album, Third Wish, was really good. As for Ronnie and he working together again, this has been discussed twice over the last 7 years fairly seriously. First, when Tracy G was leaving, Ronnie considered bringing on Rock(Feinstein's nickname) to play alongside Tracy to help offset some of his "industrialness". Tracy didn't want to go for this, so he went on and left on good terms with Ronnie understanding that his sound and style just didn't fit with DIO.

I believe it was then still considered to have Rock play alongside with Craig during this MAGICA creation period, but eventually it was decided that this wouldn't be necessary either. Ronnie hasn't worked with 2 guitarists ever, IIRC.

The 2nd time Ronnie has talked about working with Rock Feinstein again is in a concert format with him in a one-off Elf reunion gig. Ronnie said that he wasn't necessarily intrested in trying to do another album but he would consider doing a couple of New York shows just for old times' sake. Rock would be the guitarist in this reunion, of course...

Ronnie IS very busy and I don't see this happening here real soon, either. Maybe 2008 or beyond???

LLRNR,

I think David Feinstein and Ronnie came on stage together at Wacken Open Air festival in 2004... I've seen pictures of that. But I don't know if they really played a song together on that festival.

I just picked up "Third Wish" by Feinstein, and I must say he and Dio share some characterists in their apeparance. no doubt there. The disc is alright, only given it one listen so far so I can't be too judgmental, but those drums sound like they're played by a machine if you turn the volume down on the 'phones...Guitar is great and the vocals are above average (not truly great, but above average for sure, and definitly awesome on some tracks).

Is it Rock Fenstein or Feinstein? Talk about a cultural juxtaposition! That's what makes the world go 'round, mixing of cultures. The ancient Romans and others when they defeated a culture they would ship all the women away and make them marry with men from other cultures, very often who were their enemies. That way they got rid of intercultural problems in one generation! No more - "but you did that to us 400 years ago," whining bullshit.

*Bump*
Folks this is Feinstein's topic, if you want to talk about his music, please use this topic and not DIO FANS Topic.
If you want to talk about the song with DIO on it, there is topics already in there about it.
Just remember the Dio Forum Members Topics is about All Things Ronnie James Dio
This is not a Feinstein's forum Exclamation
