When you listen to Rainbow "Live in Germany 76"
you will never compare the two again. Blackmore
is sooooooo good! _________________ Voodoo |

| I like them both. Both have played in great bands. Without them (if we also includes Iommi) Metal and Hard Rock may not have existed in the form it does today. |

| Zeppelin and Page never turned me on - for some reason i preferred Deep Purple to Zeppelin/Sabbath in the early to mid 70's. I only got into Dio via re-listening to Rainbow on Stage in the late 80's which led me onto Intermission and onwards. |

I think the result so far (Blackmore leading 17-4) maybe is a little bit affected by the fact that Blackmore was with Ronnie in Rainbow.
I also voted for Blackmore and of course he is widely recognized as one of the best guitarists, but we shouldn't underestimate Page. I mean come on, statements like "Blackmore makes Page sound like a beginner" are totally wrong. _________________ Video games are bad for you? That what they said about Rock 'n' Roll... |

difference between the two is simple. Page was a good guitarist for his time, and really came out as the first true guitar hero, however, he never really took the guitar to any new level. He is the same guitar player now that he was 30 yrs ago. Blackmore is one of those guys, that although he has not been rocking for sometime now, you just get the impression that he could step right back in and shread with the best of them. Thats why I say Blackmore, not becuase he played with Ronnie. Actually the way he treated Ronnie would make me want to vote for page. _________________ Check out Al Diamond Phillips/Nevermet on the web

Blackmore took it more serious. He is also more schooled as a player. Blackmore doesn't play bars of music with "filler" notes. Every note makes musical sence. Plus, the Strat requires good skill to be played.
Page is a good rythm player. Like to experiment with sound. He is in great contrast to Blackmore's style anyway. |

No,he is obviously not.
His execution was frequently very sloppy & many of his solos were constructed from simplistic blues oriented pentatonic scales.
However he wrote & participated in some very magical mystical music regardless. |
