| Tony Iommi. He was the best fit for Dio. Blackmore didn't want to give Dio much freedom. After Rainbow's Long Live Rock and Roll, Blackmore wanted love songs and that is not Ronnie James Dio. |

Whats Vivian Cambell up to these days? It seems he's falling off the edge of the world (pun intended ) _________________ "And we'll find the Sacred Heart... somewhere bleeding in the night" |

Doug Aldrich for me. Dio had MANY great guitar players, but Doug has the heavy vibe that makes you want more! plus he has MONSTER chops!!!
He's certainly the overall best player Dio has worked with. _________________ "The world is full of kings and queens... it's Heaven and Hell" |

...As I said...Tony will probably always be my favorite due to so many wonderful memories & songs with Ronnie...& a little bit of that sentiment goes for each & every one of these guys...but I will have to remark once again regarding the spectacular prowess & raw emotion of Doug Aldrich's performances with DIO...he is an incredible soloist!...I am more & more impressed every time I listen to him...he truly does some magical things with a guitar... |

I'm not a big fan of voting for the best guitarrist, because people have different tastes, some of these guitarrists are better riff writers, shredders, showmen, etc.
My vote would have to go to Toni Iommi, hes a great riff writer, soloist, showman, and seems to be a nice person.
Blackmore comes in 2nd, just listen to Stargazer and A Light in the Black for some serious soloing _________________ Sleep with the devil and then you must pay...

Doug Aldrich. He seems to have more techniques down in his playing than just rock tricks. The fact that he played with Brian Mcnight still surprises me.
I miss him playing with Dio. Lucky for me that he played on both of Dio's DVD's the past few years.

I voted for Blackmore, but had this poll been restricted to the Dio band I'd have plumped for Doug also.
(It was Dio's 2002 gig at Manchester Academy that converted me to the Doug cause... he smoked that night - as did my ears!)
Been a fan ever since... however it was Blackmore that made me a Dio fan! _________________ If I'm high on a hill she would still be looking down on me |

| Thats a mother of a hard question dude! Each one of those guys is unique in his playing in their own individual ways, although they may play very similar music it's almost an impossible question to answer because i love all of them... Vivian campbell. |

Vivian Campbell... but Doug Aldrich kick ass too!!
Campbell à le rôle du premier guitariste de Dio, peut-être un avantage dans le coeur des Fans, mais ses solos seront toujours aussi puissants même après toutes ces années... Campbell is the best! _________________ Fan depuis 25 ans, longue vie à Dio!!! |
