Holy Diver was the original and you can here the release from RJD from making a record under his terms.......its an awsome album and the evening with Dio tour showed that those songs are timeless classics..........but I also love Last In Line but Holy Diver is a special record and as a result gets my vote of the two.......but thats not to say its my favourite of all the Dio albums! _________________ Stand up and Shout!!!!! |

Today, I'm voting for "The Last in Line," but if you ask me a week from now, I could just as easily say "Holy Diver." Both albums are saturated with metal masterpieces, so it's hard to say that either one is better than the other.
I will say I like every single song on "The Last in Line" a lot and rarely pass any of them over when listening. But with "Holy Diver" lately, I'm mainly stick with listening to my favorites on the album.
I'm not sick of the album by any means, but I've owned the album in one format or another for about 25 years and those songs are basically tattooed on my soul. Plus, I was listening to the "Holy Diver Live" album a whole lot a while back and kind of needed a break. I think I overdosed on the album ... or "over-Divered." lol
Then again, I've owned "The Last in Line" for a quarter of a century as well, and I'm not tired of any of those songs. Hmmm ... this is something to think about. Maybe I actually do like "The Last in Line" better.
I hate it when people ask these kinds of questions. I love EVERY Dio album, damn it!! |
