Universal will release of a deluxe edition of DIO's Dream Evil album on March 4th. When RONNIE JAMES DIO finally succumbed to stomach cancer in May 2010, the world of hard rock and heavy mettal lost one of its most talented and fervent ambassadors. As lead vocalist to such rock giants as RAINBOW and BLACK SABBATH, as well as fronting his own eponymous band for nearly three decades, Dio created some of the genres most defining and respected works.
Dream Evil is Dio's fourth album, released on July 21st, 1987. It features former ROUGH CUTT members Craig Goldy and Claude Schnell, and includes the singles 'All The Fools Sailed Away' and 'I Could Have Been a Dreamer'. Dream Evil was Dio's last album to feature drummer Vinny Appice.
This new 2CD deluxe edition comes with a bonus disc containing amounts other tracks the bands triumphant gig at Monsters of Rock. An expanded booklet with notes by Malcolm Dome endorsed by Ronnie’s widow Wendy makes this the next in line of ultimate Dio reissues.

Hope the sound is better than the original!
Love the songs, but the sound is poor...
The Bonus-Disc make no sense for me, because I have the Donnington Double - Cd (of course). _________________ No more night-I´ve seen the light

I would have thought they could have come out with some rarities for this release. Maybe live versions of the other songs off of this album that were played live. _________________ Psalms 91 |

Well, I got mine last week and listened through it. The remastering--to me--is hardly worth noticing. Dream Evil had such a lightweight, flat sound that I had hoped for a more dramatic change--and the fact that the bonus disc has basically nothing new is also a shame. If you already have the first 3 deluxe editions, and Live at Donnington (Hide in the Rainbow was on disc 2 of the deluxe Sacred Heart, so why the hell is it on this too?). So, the only "new track" is "I Could Have Been A Dreamer (Single Edit)"..yay. Still, a good price from amazon.co.uk, and nice packaging. I look forward to Lock Up the Wolves Deluxe (maybe they'll even find actual new material for disc 2 eventually). _________________ FINIS PER SOMNIVM REPERIO TIBI SACRA COR VENEFICVS OSTIVM AVRVM. |

| Anyone know if there are, or is going to be any videos of this tour? Its the first time I ever saw Dio live and would love to see this concert on video just once. Such anamazing concert would kill to relive it one more time. Hundreds of concerts later and I still rank it top five all time that ive been to. |
