Judas Priest comes to mind, and the two tracks I can think of that I really liked are 1. The Sentinel and 2. Electric Eye. They both have great guitar work and blazing solos. I was considering some songs off of "Sad Wings of Destiny", but some of the best songs, while beautiful, don't qualify as Heavy Metal.
Iron Maiden has had a lot of good albums and songs, but Judas Priest has been a personal favorite of mine for years.

Tough one .. a lot to choose from..
Diamond Head - Am I Evil
Led Zeppelin - Whole Lotta Love (Yeah, I know it is not Metal, but it must be there)
But, off course, Sabbath, Purple, Rainbow, Heep, Saxon belongs there too... |
