The elf albums compilation

Is it true that there is a problem with the sound , an a glipse in the beginning of a song from album #3 ?

I really want to buy these 2 albums, but i think that album 3 is out of print so the only way ,it's that compilation ?

The last two elf albums are gonna be reissued, and I suppose they'll also get a sound treatment.

If I understand your question, I find the tone to be a bit dull, however I still listened to it quite a bit anyways. It's just not the 'warmest' tone I've heard. I feel the music has lots of character regardless.

Yeah, I have the same question as this guy. I'd like to get them, but don't know if the quality is good. Can we get some more info on the rereleases? Would this be Niji's doing?

Are you talking about the double ELF CD entitled Ronnie James Dio the Elf Albums? If so I have the CD and I cant find fault with it......You wont regret buying it!

So you can confirm , that there is no problem at the beginning of the song and also the sound is ok (for the time) ?
If so, i'm buying it right away

I cannot detect a problem with any of the album - but I will relisten to that track this evening and report back for definite, I think its probably an audiophile looking for issues that says there is a problem.

To the general listener (and I am a musician so have a pretty good ear) I think you will be delighted with the album

The double album is not the warmest, but I have always felt it a treasure trove of rare Dio stuff worth having...

Many excellent songs are on it.

Ok true to my word i have checked and liberty road does have a slight flaw about 2 seconds in. Never noticed it before! Sounds like the original tape recording has a fault. But its not something that has bothered me.........the reissues may address the problem but for a 1 second slip i dont think it invalidates the other 16 tracks.

Should also say that the tone is very early 70s ie the drums are very boxy and the bass is quite tight but thats true of all 70s recording. i like the tone - fits the period.
