TYGERS OF PAN TANG has just released a special six-track CD EP, "The Spellbound Sessions", to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their iconic 1981 LP, "Spellbound".

Following on from last year's celebration of the "Wildcat" album and after receiving fantastic feedback from the fans, TYGERS OF PAN TANG decided to continue with this concept of celebrating the past.

Commented Weir: "I am very proud of the band's history as well as the current lineup in the band.

"This EP, as did 'The Wildcat Sessions', gives an opportunity to celebrate and record some of my favorite songs and to remember the past through the current lineup.

"We should never forget the TYGERS history and I hope this shows the band will always recognize the early days of the band.

"'Spellbound' was a new era for the TYGERS in 1981 and after the success of 'Wildcat', we had to follow on with something special, which I think we did.

"There are a lot of bands that want to modernize their sound or image and forget what made them great in the beginning; I am not one of them."

"The Spellbound Sessions" is limited to 1,000 copies and will be made available to the Tyger Force fan club members from February 10. The CD will be available for general sale from the TYGERS web site shop from February 19.

All songs have been re-recorded and remixed by TYGERS OF PAN TANG.

The bands full live set during 2011 will include all songs from "The Spellbound Sessions".

February 21 saw PRAYING MANTIS release a special limited-edition EP to celebrate 30 years since the release of their critically acclaimed album "Time Tells No Lies". Entitled "Metalmorphosis", the effort includeS five songs, some of which are from the original album re-recorded by the current MANTIS lineup.

The songs the band has chosen are as follows:

01. Children of The Earth
02. Praying Mantis
03. Lovers to the Grave
04. Panic in the Streets
05. Captured City

All these tracks have been completely re-recorded.

2009 saw PRAYING MANTIS release "Sanctuary" and the reviews and feedback have been fantastic. As a follow-up and a celebration of 30 years of having the opportunity to perform, write and record, the band has completed work on "Metalmorphosis".

"Metalmorphosis" is being sold via PRAYING MANTIS' web sites in February 2011 at £5.50 plus shipping/handling. The EP will also be available at the live shows throughout 2011.

"Sanctuary" was released in Europe in June 2009 via Frontiers Records (July 2009 in the U.S.). The CD was recorded in Atlanta, Georgia under the direction of producer/engineer Andy Reilly (ASIA, THE CULT, BRUCE DICKINSON, FM, etc).

Tygers were a great band, I had no idea they were back together. I'm off to check out their website, thanks HM.
