I have really been enjoying this album.

I was driving home listening to 'Breaking into Heaven' the other night and I can't help but find the song interesting.

Seriously, because Ronnie passed, I find it a poetic ending to his last album ever, and it comes on the album as the last song.

Is it a metaphor for heaven on earth or is it really about overthrowing God and taking over Heaven?

Breaking Into Heaven is by far my favorite track on the album.

Rock and Roll Angel is a close second. It makes me think of my college days when all of us girls would get all prettied up for a party.... Laughing

I can fully understand the reasoning behind the doom metal tag which this album pursued. And I know most die-hard Dio fans love it but a more progressive album could have been played out. PowerKnight Twisted Evil

Personally, as a doom metal fan I love how doomy this album sounds. I like how they pushed the edges of what they'd done before, while still sounding like Sabbath. This shows off different characteristics of Ronnies voice than the faster stuff (most of which I also love).

I heard Ozzy say he'd like to do the 'ultimate' black sabbath album the other day. I thought to myself, 'It's been done, and the man who did it with them is gone.'

The 'ultimate' is over to me.

I thought the same thing. Ozzy had the chance to shoot for the "ultimate" black sabbath album during their reunion back in the 90's. Once again, he dropped the ball and Dio picked it up and ran with it for a touchdown.

Ozzy's done some great work in the past. But even if the guys decide they want to work with him again, I don't see how an album with today's Ozzy could possibly top this one.

Rise up but the hands all pull you down
My sunshine is wind and rain and thunder
I sing but I can't make a song

I'd like to think Oz still has some stuff left in him and, yes if he does rejoin Sabbath, it'll have to be darn good. I'd don't want material like that's on Scream for sure. If he comes back, it better be old-school Sabbath.

In theory it could be interesting if they recorded a classic sounding Black Sabbath album. It would be amazing if they did it with Rick Rubin. He has an amazing ability to bring amazing stuff out of people.

Still, I can't help it, I'd love it if R.Ruben were producing Dio w/Those guys and not Ozzy. No offense to Ozzy on this one.

I love both of those guys but I think Dio's body of work spanning his career is more diverse, vast and full than Ozzy's. Ozzy is an ok singer w/over the top antics.

Blizzard of Ozz and Diary of a Madman are two of my favorite albums ever. Randy Rhodes was simply amazing.

That would be great, I love his old tunes, but Ozzy is pretty far-gone ceeatively at this point. He hasn;t had a worthy guitarist since Jake E. Lee, and no one touches Rhoads. While I admit to enjoying No More Tears, old Johnny should have booted Zakk long ago--and that darn squeal--not Gus is any better.

Anyway, I regress Smile If Ozzy does rejoin Sabbath, I agree: old school all the way!

I was excited when this album came out last April...although I must admit I was a bit turned off by the cover art.

At first listen, I was afraid it was almost too dark, too heavy, and too scary for my taste. But, knowing as I did that Ronnie had yet to ever disappoint me, I kept listening, and now I thoroughly enjoy this album. I think his voice is at its best here...deep and edgy...perfectly metal. Tony Iommi never fails to write the heaviest riffs imaginable, and yet his solos are somehow very inspiring and hopeful. This whole band is simply amazing.

I can't put this album as my favorite from the H&H lineup, but it is certainly a great piece of work.

I love Ronnie's vocals on Atom and Evil, and Tony's solo on Rock and Roll Angel. Those would have to be my favorite tracks, along with Bible Black and Fear.

On a related note, I consider myself quite blessed to have been able to see these gentlemen twice on stage!

Greetings,L,

This is a very good album. I can see how you might be turned off by the cover art--have you seen the Wal-Mart exclusive cover? It is chiefly black and goes better with the back cover art, yet still retains the H&H symbol,

One song I really dig is Neverwhere. Amazing lyrics, love the bass line, and it seems to speak to me on a deeper level. Maybe I'm in the minority with this tune, but it's one of my faves on the disc, top 3.

Listening to this in the last couple days made me think about how cool another album release from these guys would have been at this time.

Life is so strange. It's still hard to imagine that Ronnie is not around anymore. It's been nearly a year. Unbelievable.
