One of the great classic metal albums of all time. One odd side note:
The creatures in the "The Last In Line" video bear an incredible likeness to The Borg of the Star Trek: The Next Generation TV series.
I wonder if the video inspired them. |

Was just listening to the album today, without having seen this thread!
Excellent album which keeps up the very high standard of "Holy Diver" _________________ "Whenever you dream you're holding the key, it opens the door to let you be free" - RJD 1985 |

The first time I ever heard a DIO song on the radio, I was in Dallas (ironically, just the day before the Metal Masters show there!) and The Last in Line came on while my brother, cousin, friend, and I were in the car. Needless to say, I had to turn up the volume and mandate that there be no talking during the song.
Also, Eat Your Heart Out was one of the early songs I was able to teach myself to play on guitar just by listening.
Anyway, I have no complaints about this album. I can't say it "speaks" to me as much as a few of the others do, but it's on par with Holy Diver and of the same great quality of everything Ronnie ever did!
I thoroughly enjoy all these songs...least favorite would be Egypt. Favorites are One Night in the City, Mystery, and I Speed at Night. _________________ "You'll never make me be like you. I'm Master of the Moon!" |

Such an excellent album.
'The Last in Line' I believe was the first song I was ever introduced to by Ronnie.
It's still one of my favorites.
The album as a whole is certainly a solid one.
Mystery is good.
Egypt is good
Evil Eyes is totally Dio
We Rock is a great song and concert opener.
Well worth the buy.
Last in Line is also perhaps the best video Ronnie ever did, especially if you imagine it's like a small movie.
I love the soft intro of Last in Line. I have listened to it 1 million times at least.
Sigh. |

The Last In Line title track has to be the most definitive Dio sound, a very good album but I have always felt a couple of fillers in here.
Still a very good Dio album, PowerKnight _________________ Joust With Thee

| Hi - does anyone have any idea why LIL has not been remastered like Holy D? Perhaps there is a possibility there for the new Niji label to do it - hint, hint!! |

From start to finish, a brilliant album, great followup to HD. I think the Last in Line and Egypt are my favorite tunes from this album, although I love all of them. _________________ So if a stranger sees you
