I would REALLY love to see a cd collecting those hard-to-find Dio bonus tracks and rarities for fans! We buy all the albums, but sometimes can't find or afford the foreign editions or limited ones. Here's my start for a great track listing:

First, the 3 tracks from the "Dio Live"single released in Europe in 1985:

1. Like the Beat of a Heart (live)
2. We Rock (live)
3. Holy Diver (live)
4. Evil Eyes (the original version that appears as the B-side to the "Holy Diver" 45 single. It yet to be issued on CD, and it's great!)
5. Time to Burn (the studio track from Intermission (1986))
6. Hide in the Rainbow (from the Iron Eagle soundtrack and the 1986 Dio E.P., later on Diamonds)
7. Why are they Watching Me (from Lock Up the Wolves- CD Only, and many of us weren't buying cds in 1990)
8. God Hates Heavy Metal (Japan Bonus Track from Angry Machines)
9. Annica (Japan Bonus instrumental track from Magica)
The "Limited Tour Edition" of Killing the Dragon came in a slipcase with poster and added two bonus tracks :
10. Fever Dreams (Live)
11. Rainbow in the Dark (Live)

12. The Prisoner Of Paradise (Japan Bonus track from Master of the Moon)

The bonus tracks from the Japanese edition of Inferno: Last in Live (there was a third bonus track, but it's an interview)
13. After All the Dead (live)
14. I (live)
15. Elektra (from Tournado/Magica II)

If we could include Sabbath,I'd also love to see Letters From Earth (Alternate Version), and official releases of "Bad Blood" and "The Next Time", two good songs recorded during the Dehumanizer sessions that never made it to the final cd! and the studio song that's partly Computer God ("In the Middle"), and of course the first version of Mob Rules, and Time Machine (Wayne's World Version), and Die Young (Bonus Track - Live - 12" version), but those are appearing on the new expanded editions of the Dio-Sabbath cds.
Then there's STARS..
His version of Aerosmith's Dream On with Yngwie Malmsteen is stunning, too. Or even Ronnie's strange guest work on Butterfly Ball and the Grasshopper's Feast, Sitting in a Dream, Love is all, and Homeward. Or the Alice Cooper tribute he helped with, Welcome to My Nightmare, with Steve Lukather/Bob Kulick/Phil Soussan/Randy Castillo/Paul Tayl.Or Games with Dog Eat Dog, Tonight with Eddie Ojeda, What Cost War(Munetaka Higuchi & Dream Castle), To Live for The King (version 1 or 2) from Kerry Livgren‘s Seeds of Change, and 3 songs Live at the Royal Albert Hall With Deep Purple and The London Symphony Orchestra Sept 25 & 26, 2002 :Smoke On The Water, Sitting In A Dream, & Love Is All, or Bruce Dickinson doing Rainbow in the Dark and Man on the Silver Mountain with Dio..

I'd better stop, but tell me you wouldn't pay for such a cd to finish your Dio official library?? Can you think of any other songs that should be released?

I LOVE YOUR POST...

All too many fans also would love this too. How do we all get together instead of EBAY selling or whatever, to bring together our collections to share / SHARE among one another forever.

I would love to see all the fans come together, online setting up something... possibly on this site even. Where we all contribute our collections of Ronnie's music and someone or all of us bring that together to form 1 hell of a CD / DVD put together and free.

For ANY fan to download when ever.

BETTER YET;

Let's create that section called DIO downloads; where fans can upload the music / videos and pay a fee or donation that goes to the Stand UP & Shout cancer fund.

---------- what do you guys & gals think?

Maybe we just get access to the area by becoming a Dio Fan Club member on here. This way who ever signs up as a fan club member, those proceeds or a portion of them goes to the fund.

Lets start a poll and see if - Niji agrees with us all and if this is something we could legally pull off even on here?

Wink

That idea is great I think if it can be legally done..
Just for FC members, I don't know, not every one might want to join the fanclub, but paying a donation for the Stand up & shout cancer fund is a very good idea.

One piece might also be interesting, the Chris Tetley interview... I do have that, but only on record and no chance to copy it... well I would find a way to put it on tape if then someone could digitalize it I would send it out Smile

Not a bad idea but we can't have links in here.
Downloads will have to come from the website not the forum and have 100% backing from Niji Entertainment Group.
We don't need a poll either, Niji is working hard to sort out things the fans want.
Just this morning this was posted.
Ronnie came up with the name of the 16 LP Box set "For The Record: The Complete Dio Vinyl Collection!" Each LP will be on colored 180 gram vinyl and the Box Set will have a special book filled with photos and there will be 16 different All Access Tour Laminates included! The packaging will be FIRST CLASS and we will ma...ke it affordable for all fans! We are working on lots of cool releases! STAY TUNED \m/

All I can say is just be a little patience and keep checking the Official website and Official Facebook page for news about Official products only!

I was definitely only suggesting an official cd release of "Dio Rarities"- the idea of fan trading is fine, but it's a different sort of thing (and already going on outside the law in torrents and such).

The vinyl collection looks beautiful, but I have no turntable, so it would be just a visual artifact for me.
I guess "Why Are they Watching Me" is available in print, so just a cd like this would be fabulous:

1. Like the Beat of a Heart (live)
2. We Rock (live)
3. Holy Diver (live)
4. Evil Eyes (the original version)
5. Time to Burn
6. Hide in the Rainbow
7. God Hates Heavy Metal
8. Annica
9. Fever Dreams (Live)
10. Rainbow in the Dark (Live)
11. The Prisoner Of Paradise
12. After All the Dead (live)
13. I (live)
14. Elektra

The live tracks give it a few big hits (since such collections usually have weaker material- nobody puts their favorite songs as b-sides and bonus tracks), and I think the rest would fit on a 79 minute cd.
If not, I'd cut 12 & 13, since they're Sabbath songs,

Nothing wrong with the topic...I know folks have used it as a reference. Wink

I also have no problem with fans trading with fans but they can't do it on the DIO forum, we are not a marketplace or trading forum, if folks want to sell their DIO collections or bootlegs etc, there is a whole load of sites out there and the folks who want to buy these products will find them, but they won't find them from here.
I can't stop folks from using torrents but I can stop folks from posting information and links to them from this forum. This forum will only endorse Official products from Ronnie James Dio and Niji Entertainment Group.

holymagica, so you believe/know there will be live video footage put out ? I'm surprised " whoever " would see much of a profit in it unless it gets put out just to be nice to the fans..
I really hope so, I really dont enjoy watching clips on youtube very much.
I've seen some proshot tv broadcasts on youtube like the sofia bulgaria 98 but, peoples copies seem far down the ladder in video quality. It would be nice to see it from its original state on a dvd !

I also saw temple of the king on youtube that was proshot from : Loud Park Festival, Tokyo Japan, October 15, 2006.
I dont know if that was a full dio show but the video quality was amazing ! I wonder how much dio stuff was filmed professionally in europe for tv, etc. over the years..

thanks for the response Smile

Brilliant idea, isn't it?
And how nice it would be to include all the songs he recorded with other rockstars?
He performed on eddie ojedas last solo-album and on girlschool's legacy.
I'm afraid legal problems could interfere.
But let's hope for wendy and all at niji to make it happen.

Holymagica,
When you say 16 LP, does that mean he wanted it released on 33 1/3 albums? Or am I misunderstanding? I have a turntable, of course, so I can listen to anything I still have from the old days. But that leaves a lot of others out in the rain.

Thank you for your continued support for DIO in the future. I can't believe we didn't get Magica story finished, or did we?

Jeffrey

I'm wondering about this.... being Ronnie released Electra...

Pretty sure he has / had written out all the lyrics to Magica 2,3.

Now it's just a matter of time for the legal end of things to come together before possibly Wendy releases that to us. If Ronnie gave us a taste, I'm sure theres more to come. I always found it exciting, funny and strange -

How certain songs made it in the orders they did on albums. Wink

Holymagica,

Yes, I thought that is what he meant, but nowadays they try to make CDs look like 45s or albums, even with fake needle grooves and the adapter for 45s to fit on a turntable pin. I didn't know what the "180 grams" meant. Not sure how albums and Cd's compare in grams here in the states.

Thank you. I still enjoy putting on an album or old 45. Makes for a more nostalgic listen, somehow.

Jeffrey
