Ronnie is Our RAINBOW IN THE DARK

A most horrible day for the world.
We have lost a true friend who lived his live to make our lives better.

I first heard Ronnie when Elf opened for Deep Purple in Long Beach a long time ago. I had got there early to be in front of Blackmore and as the floor filled up I was pushed over to FRONT ROW CENTER!!!

I had never seen or heard Elf before but from the moment Ronnie hit the stage, I just knew he was a rocker to watch. It was near the end of that show when Ronnie came to me and gave me my first of many handshakes. It was electric and to this day, I remember it precisely. After that...Deep Purple was not nearly as exciting anymore.

I have been to over a hundred DIO (and related Dio band) concerts. I am fortunate to have my photo with Ronnie on some of his DVD's. This was truly a thrill for me when I saw it when I played the DVD.

Ronnie was the ultimate performer, and even after doing an exhausting show, he always made sure that he said hello to his fans who waited for hours afterward to see him for just a few seconds...in rain or snow or just anything, just to have a personal moment with him.

The photos that I have of myself with Ronnie are the ones that I cherish the most of any that I have of my whole life. Ronnie truly makes me think of his words in most everything I do..or don't do.

To lose this GREAT friend of us all, was the saddest day of my life and one that I will never be able to get over.
