...his music and legacy will live forever. I've been absolutely wracked with grief these past few days since the news broke out and I felt half of my world just fade away. Ronnie's music has been my conscience for many, many years. My absolute favourite vocalist and brilliant songwriter. One thing I admire about Ronnie, is that he wrote music in such a way to allow improvisation, and that is a singer's and a band's dream to have to keep old songs and their playing staying fresh. For example, Dio always found new and unique ways to re-interpret his older material, or sing in a different way, which made the live performances all the more cherishable.
Incredibly charismatic on stage and one of the nicest, real people in the world today. My biggest regret is never meeting him in person, but the times I've seen him live were just outstanding. It just sickens me that the good is always taken away from us and the evil lives on, but that's just my cynical temper going through.
Ronnie James Dio has served as a great artist to help inspire myself to get into singing, but also, inspire my film works. The words he sings and the beautifuly melodies he wrote, his songs influence me whenever I'm about to start writing and shooting a film, as his creativity helps me to attack a story in a different and unique way.
The world has lost a hero, but like I said, Dio isn't gone - his spirit is with us, through the brilliant albums he made and the absolute genuine, kind, human being that he was, still is and always will be.
I love you, Dio. And everyone, from friends, family to fans; take care of yourselves and be there for each other. I'm hopefully going to get around to putting together a huge Dio tribute video soon. I'll let you all know when it's finished and online.
