At last I have managed to subscribe to this forum and I want to share my feelings about the sad occurrence of RJD's passing. I was lucky to see him with Black Sabbath in London in 1981 ad at Donington in 1983, (at that time I was very much into heavy-metal music...). The London gig was unforgettable and I remember that at the end of the concert Brian May of Queen joined Black Sabbath for a final encore of Paranoid.
I am a musician myself, I can tell the talent and the quality in music so I just want to say that RJD was one the gratest singers of all time and of all music and his legacy will go on forever. His voice was unique, powerful, (even at the age of 67), evocating, perfectly intonated, he was THE VOICE of heavy-metal. I learned form countless fans and musicians that he was also a great human being and this makes his loss even harder to accept.
It's too sad to say goodbye, I want to believe that he will be met in another world where he'll sing for us again.
R.I.P, too early gone, too sadly missed. (E.F. Italy) |
