The venue is great and the atmosphere is amazing...its like a football crowd...lots of noise and singing.
Its like an mini-earthquake.
You will love it. |

It's a great venue - all standing, so there's always some bouncing around down the front. Should be plenty noise and singing from the crowd too.
You're gonna love the beautiful scenery and lovely vistas on the walk up to the gig though. Let's just say Glasgow Academy is not in an area classed as a local beauty spot! Imagine Beirut, but freezing cold. Looks rough as hell but you'll be fine - streets will be full of Dio fans and despite appearances Glasgow is always a friendly place to visit. |

I've been to Glasgow many years ago.
It was freezing cold, but it's so beautiful place.
I will do a live performance with my DIO tribute band in Japan on 21st of Nov the same day. So I can't join Glasgow, but I will fly to London right after my own show. _________________ ☆Tell me lies as long as it's not about love☆ |

I wonder if The Glaswegian pub is still standing.
First time...I went there....I did not know what to expect but I was brave and went in...remember I had the wife with me...not the sort of pub you take a woman
Its a Rangers pub!
The locals were great....very friendly even when they knew from my accent I was from Edinburgh.
I returned again there and again no problems.
Leave your car at the car park at SPT Subway Station it will be safe there. |

I'm attending this gig with a friend. Last concert I saw was Steel Panther, and it was at a small Glasgow club but it rocked. Heavy metal is making a comeback this way!
I was blown away by Dio's sauce with Iommi and co at their Heaven and Hell SECC show. I'm not ashamed to say I am glad this is going to be a smaller, louder venue. Also, Doug Aldrich > Craig Goldy IMO. _________________

We went to the Glaswegian pub before the 2005 Holy Diver concert - we had ran down to the venue to be faced by an enormous queue so decided to go to the nearest pub for a while . If i had walked in there sober i might have through twice about it but we waltzed in and never had any bother. It was a great night. I would also recmmend parking at the subway car park then walking along. Theres a chipper between this car park and the hall as well. |
