Just to explain, I've never been one to be starstruck by meeting celebrities. And, it bothers me when fans refer to artists as "Gods".
Anyway,... I'm very much looking forward to seeing Ronnie, once again, at Red Rocks this month.(It's been 20 years +).
Since there is no meet and greet, on this tour. I am curious if any of you, have any stories or suggestions, on getting to meet "The Man" , himself.
I'm taking my daughter to the show and making a banner. But, to get a picture and a hand shake would surely make my day. Thanks, guys. |

Thanks for your reply, Rhonda.
I see alot of pictures and videos with Ronnie and fans. And, it seems like the guy is very accessable. (It almost seems like its easy to meet him).
But, I guess reality is you either attend a meet/greet or be at the right place at the right time. Ill keep my fingers crossed. Take care sweetie. |

I completely agree with Rhonda Ross, meeting Ronnie is an unforgettable and unique experience! I met him this year for the first time : the first time in Hellfest (a metal festival in France) and then in Paris after their show! And I never met a person like him, his more than accessible!
Good luck!!! But If you ask him for a photo, I think that he won't refuse!
After the show in Paris, there were about 20 people waiting for him and he stayed with us until the last person got photos or autograph! _________________ "Whenever you dream you're holding the key it opens the door to let you be free" |

I never met Ronnie but I have a friend who did. He said he walked into a music store (I think it was in NY) and Ronnie was just sitting there trying out a bass. He talked to him for a few moments and said he was super nice and friendly. _________________ Sinister Realm-Traditional Metal

On the KTD tour my wife and I met Ronnie at the Double Tree in Boise Idaho in 2005 i think it was. My wife asked the roadies where they were staying and they said where we went there and walked in the bar and there was not only Ronnie but the rest of the band also, got our shirts signed and talked with him for a long time. BUT... the tour manager was all over us and i mean steping inbetween Ronnie and myself but Ronnie said it's ok and the manager steped aside and let us BS for a while, too bad i had drank so much. He is very nice! _________________ GUITARGOD |

Hell ya,,, thanks guys for your comments....
Just got home, from Denver..... 8 hour drive. But well worth it! The show at Red Rocks was incredible.
Me and the kids hung out after the show, exploring the incredible venue.... About an hour after the show , we walked back to the car and came across, the tour buses and a handful of fans.
After getting autograghs from C and C (very cool guys). We waited and hoped. About an hour later, a van arrived, transporting Toni and Geezer. But all we got was a wave.......oh well,,,, but after that ,,,, The Man himself arrived...... What a stroke of destiny....
Ronnie was obviously tired and took the time to sing and take pics with everyone there. WHat a Class Guy...... To be honest, I was a little tongue tied...But thats alright, Ronnie was impressed with my 7 year old daughter.
He showed his soft side along with his sense of humor. We both got pics and she got hugs and kisses.... obviously a night she nor I will ever forget,,,, thanks ROnnie! |

Thanks, much for the acknowledgment.
Funny thing is, I always pictured you as a personal friend of Ronnie, himself.
Thanks again! |

I met Ronnie on the KTD tour at the Portsmouth Pyramids here in England.
He was such a gentleman, no topic was off bounds and he willing introduced me and my wife to each of the band and refused to leave the venue until we have exhausted our discussions - he was genuine and friendly without fault and I was deeply honoured to meet the man whom I have been following since I was 9 years old and in just a couple of weeks I will be turning 40 and my passion for the man and his music never dies.
If you cant get to meet him via the fan club hang around outside the venue near the tourbus and he will stop and say hello - he has never shunned a fan to my knowledge! _________________ Stand up and Shout!!!!! |

Thats how the man works... he knows w/o his fans he would not be where he is today. _________________

I feel compelled to comment on all of these posts. I have not been a fan of Dio for very long--I had not even heard of him until the summer of 2007, because I just didn't grow up listening to his genre of music (shame on me!). But, what I haven't had in time, I have made up for in quality. I am a loyal and die-hard fan, and I know I will be for the rest of my life--that's just what Ronnie's music will do to a person!
My friends and family are not huge fans of Dio, and they just can't understand why I admire and respect him so much when I haven't met him. And when I tell them why I admire and respect the man and his music, they tell me I have some idealistic vision of him in my mind, and if I ever did meet him, I'd be disappointed. Still, I have never allowed them to sway my own opinion.
And then I see these posts, from those of you who have had the honor to have met Ronnie James Dio, and I hear nothing but the highest compliments and the greatest praises about how he is in person. It makes me happy almost beyond measure! And so my dream lives on--maybe one day I, too, will have the pleasure of meeting the man who has inspired me and touched my life, even without knowing it. |
