Difficult question... well, I love both the versions, it's very hard to give an answer...
well, my favourite version of that song with David Coverdale is from "Live In Europe", my favourite version with Ronnie James Dio, instead, is from "Live In Munich '77" and between the version from "Live In Europe" and the one from "Live In Munich '77" maybe I prefer the one from "Live In Munich '77", so I'll vote for Ronnie James Dio.

Magic!

Mario

hahah

David Coverdale wins defintly.
i mean come on you cant take away his most shinning moment.
baby baby baby babyyy.

Best time i listen to the song is californa jam 74.

But the best thing about the song on Rainbow on stage is Ritchie's solo best peice of guitar work iv ever heard.

Dio and Coverdale are maybe the two greatest vocalist of Rock, I'm thinking about Mistreated , only David Coverdale can sing it the same is with HaH or Die Young or Holy Diver where only Dio can be at the microphon.

Because its true. The bluesy nature of the song fits DC's voice better Ronnie's. And whenever Rainbow performed it, they had that very annoying back and forth part between Ronnie and Ritchie "doo doo doo doo doo ....." and on and on. Ugh, I hate that. It always kinda sucks to listen to a Rainbow live show or boot and think that there are great Rainbow songs being left on the sideline so they can do Mistreated for 15 minutes. Sure would have been nice to hear A Light In The Black or Snake Charmer or Tarot Woman instead...

Coverdale is my vote, just such a good bluesy vocal track by him.

Dio is amazing at it too, no lie.
