Has it ever annoyed you that the tracks which really stand out for you on an album never receive the recognition they deserve, but are instead forgotten about in favour of the hit singles which become associated with the record?
Please try and post a video
Here is my first.....from the cd Renegade-Thin Lizzy

Cant get the closing guitar solo from Wishbone Ash 4 "Everybody Needs a Friend" out of my head. It is brilliant.
I have listened to Wishbone for over 30 years but never listened to Wishbone 4 because i was to niave and believed the bullshit from the media that after Argus it was crap. I am discovering the album again and this song is a killer. |

This often happens with bands, who get pigeonholed due to a hit they had which may have nothing to do with their overall sound.
"Oh that's the (name of track) band isnt' it! I hate that song" is what they usually say. It really sucks but it's a reality of the music biz.
And my most hilariously inappropriate example would be "Barbie Girl" by Aqua. This was the most annoying song and video of the century, but their first record really was a pop masterpiece with tons of great tracks sounding nothing like this. _________________ Bass guitarists hold it all together. |
