And the third and the final Elf studio album comes here. It was released in 1975.
To me this is the best Elf album. Many songs in the album are good, the best being for me the startoff track. The piano riff really sounds like it has received some influence from another classic rock recording which is "Saturday Night's Alright (for Fighting)" (an Elton John song). The verses and chorus are of course totally completely different, but the piano riff always brings that old SNAFF into my mind.
Other quite good songs to me are "Prentice Wood" and "Liberty Road". Rest good except "Shotgun Boogie", which is the only one to go below three... I think it's just too fast, that's it...
1. Black Swampy Water ****
2. Prentice Wood ***½
3. When She Smiles ***
4. Good Time Music ***
5. Liberty Road ***½
6. Shotgun Boogie **
7. Wonderworld ***
8. Streetwalker ***
Just like the previous thread, this is also open for discussion... just to make it sure ok.

This was the only ELF cassette I had when I was in School.
I liked it,I was a Heavy Dio fan back then,I had to have what ever I could get my hands on.
I liked wonder world.
I wrote Dio a letter and got him to sign my tickets from the 2 '85
shows in the civic arena and asked him to play wonder world in his set,He signed the tickets and sent them back, but I don't think they play any ELF stuff, anymore. _________________ We're the Light inside the Darkness that it needs |
