Britain has always had a huge fondness towards UFO but how was this band perceived in your country.
And is there any folks out there who don't own a UFO cd?

You do have a point but at the same time....I really enjoyed some of the songs without Schenker.
Now I regard Schenker one of the best in the world, becoz of my age and the era I grew up with rock and metal....Blackmore and Schenker to me are Gods of Guitar.

UFO without Schenker did make a lot great music.I always wonder what would have happened to Whitesnake if Bernie Marsden had got the job as a UFO guitarist but the band gave the job to Schenker in the end.
Paul Chapman is a very underrated guitarist,''No Place to Run''is great ,''The Wild, the Willing and the Innocent'' is a favourite of mine, mostly down to the track "Profession of Violence".
Chapman was even better on ''Mechanix''just love the songs "The Writer", We Belong to the Night"and "Let It Rain".
''Making Contact'' was the last cd Chapman did with the band but again it has some great songs.I think Chapman's contribution to UFO's history should be highlighted just as much Schenker.Folks should not also forget another great non Schenker UFO cd ''Misdemeanor'' a classic cd!
Current guitarist Vinnie Moore is perfect to fit in the shoes of Schenker and Chapman.

Paul with UFO Let It Rain

I guess perfection is Blackmore and Dio writing together just like Moog and Schenker but at the same time all 4 artists have written amazing stuff apart.

Rhonda shame on you Razz
You need to get yourself a Greatest Hits of UFO! Laughing

Although Vinnie is an amazing player, I have always found his sound to be annoyingly bland. That thin, nasally single coil neck pickup tone has never done anything for me. Schenker, however, had a monsterous tone.

I am a HUGE fan of UFO. I have seen them around 30 times and would go another 30. Paul Chapman is a great guitar player and deserves way more credit than has been given to him. I have everything they ever released as well as a few bootlegs. Andy Parker is a great time keeper and just does his job well.

UFO RULES!

UFO was never my thing, but i have never really been exposed to them. I may have like them more, if I had been.

Rockerbob Very Happy
30 times must be a record Exclamation
I know you are a huge Schenker fan like myself and you are right Chapman does not get enough credit for his time in UFO.
I think whoever replaced Schenker was always gonna get a hard time...simply becoz Schenker is one of the greatest guitarist in the world.

alitivity Smile
Don't worry about it.

This is for you and Rhonda
2 versions of the same song.
1st one is Moore and the 2nd one is Chapman

The only UFO album I got is the YOU ARE HERE effort. With Moore and also with Jason "I Will Play In Led Zep sans Robert P." Bonham. Probably they didn't get positive reception worldwide of this album. Probably they didn't embark on a tour of their dreams when promoting this album. Probably people were ******: No Schenker - No UFO, instead buying this record and giving it a spin or two on their DC player.

And if they didn't buy it - they are S.uckers (no offense here implied), because this album is an ass kicking machine. A well crafted hard rock piece of music. An album with a good flow, well written and executed songs.

The next album was not that convincing (at least to me), so I don't own a copy. Maybe to some (bigger than I am) UFO fans it is the best moment to call ME a S.ucker, then Twisted Evil

UFO is an extraordinary band, even now Schenker is amazing, saw him open for and play with the Scorpions last month.
