Thinking of visiting TX! Your input please

Ok guys, need your help to make a decision. First off the background. Went to Bristow and had the most amazing experience of my life. I swear during the H&H set I felt like I was tripping (I was clean & sober) The music became part of me and for 70 minutes there was no one in the pavilion but me and RJD. Me him and the music were all one. I know it sounds drug induced and I admit I'm no angel, I've done just about everything in my time. Even to me it sounds and did feel drug induced, but it wasn't, thats what intriges me about it. I've always gotten into music at shows but never like this. It was better then drugs, better then sex, it was the best experience of my life!

So afterwards my first thought is I want more! (See, just like a good drug) I'm understanding the deadheads who followed the dead around the country and went to every show. If I could I'd do that with Dio, I'm a fairly stable person at this point in my life so for me to want to do that is kind of out of character.

Reality hits and I know I can't quit my job, leave home and follow them but I got to thinking a good compromise would be one more show. After checking the schedule the only one that fits decently with my work schedule is Aug 24th in selma, TX. I live in VA so its a bit of a trip, LOL

Now if I'm going to do it I figure I need to do it right which means a good front 5 rows center seat, scalper price will run me around $300, ok I'm willing. I check flights. i can drive to Richmond and leave on sunday morning getting me to San Antonio around 3pm, taxi to the pavilion and be there in plenty of time to catch H&H. Then after the show back to the airport, catch a few zzzz's in the terminal and catch a morning plane back to VA. Home in time to go to work monday night.

Plane price is crazy though, around $600, if I wait to last minute I know I can get it cheaper but I'm chancing not getting a flight. And do I go ahead and get a show ticket if I haven't got a plane ticket yet? And last decision, there are platinum packages left for $279, should I or shouldn't I? I hate the idea of the VIP packs but if I'm going all the way to TX and blowing all my $$$ it almost seems like I have to meet them.

Now, heres the thing, I'm not a rich person. I made a decent amount of money this summer doing some things that I probably shouldn't have done (nothing that hurt anyone) I bought my car that I needed to get my mom around and bought myself some concert tickets. I have about $1100 left so I could just about do this. I also know I should be smart and pay the money to my credit card which has about $3000 debt on it.

So, would this be the stupidist most irresponsible thing I've ever done? Or would it be the memory of a lifetime? Kind of the last hurrah of a rock n roll rebel? I know my family will condemn me for it, (family meaning mother & siblings. No hubby or kids or anything) but then again since its a day trip they may not have to know.

Part of me says just wait H&H will tour again, Dio will tour again. But what if....... I don't want to be morbid but Dio's no spring chicken, as well as the rest of the band, what if someone croaks before they tour again, for that matter what if I do? I have chronic kidney disease so more then likely a shortened lifespan. Shouldn't be this soon (I'm 42) but no one knows, or I could die in a fiery car wreck tomorrow. I keep thinking "Live for today, tomorrow never comes!"

I know what I should do, what the world would say I should do, and I know what I want to do. So, input?

Cool, I'll check it out! i was looking into CA so I could go with you guys but the schedule just didnt work right with my work and all plus I've got a Billy Idol show that weekend too so I'd be pushing my limits.

Of course if TX doesnt work out I may just have to push limits.

I dunno if I'll do it yet, I want to, I was just telling the security guard here at work about it and he said "now, thats living like a rockstar!" yeah and thats what I've always wanted to do If I had a magic 8 ball i think signs would be pointing to yes!

I did just find a scalper site with a ticket in orch3 row c for $199, not too bad.

Hell yeah! Got my flight tonight and found out by driving 2.5 hrs I could fly for about $250 cheaper! It'll be rough coming home and having to work that night but I have a feeling I'll be so amped I won't need sleep anyway

So I was still looking at the scalper sites for a ticket, its hard to find a single one, best I could do was center orch row j for around $200. There had been a single in row 3 on the side but it dissapeared. I decided to look on ebay and what catches my eye, a pair of front row center tickets!!!!!

Yes it all came together like it was meant to be I got the pair for $365! I figure I can sell the extra one and recoup a bit of money.

If anyone here is in the san antonio area and interested in going and sitting front row center I'll sell it to you for what I paid, $182.50. Let me know if you want it.

Congratulations! I'm sure you won't be disappointed, I know I am mega pumped for my concert tomorrow. Front row to see Heaven and Hell and I get to meet the band? Talk about the best night of my life. I can guarantee you that once I get my pictures, the one of me with Ronnie himself will be my MySpace default for a very very long time

last years tour we waited to see if any dates would be close to our area. if memory serves me correct dallas was the nearest date an seriously conflicted with our work schedules. so we had to pass. then the second leg.the wife an i picked the reno nevada date got second row seats like 300 bucks. reserved rooms at the silver legacy casino/ hotel. booked our flight. had a great time! no regrets! so if you want it bad enough you will make it happen. by the way i would never do that with any other band. just DIO!
