Guys...

I rarely feel the need to step in and I haven’t done so for a long time, but – what is this thread really about? The KTD album, musical taste, song tempo...?

I guess it’s more about where our individual hearts are regarding Ronnies musical future. Some of us have embraced the Sabbath thing, others are crying over the Dio band, and others do both these things (like me). But I have followed the Dio tour in the spring, and all I can say here is to me, it didn’t feel like a good-bye tour, and I’m sure it wasn’t meant like that.

We all know that time is an issue. If anything and God willing, we’re going to get a Magica sequel from Dio – some day. Ronnie loves the heavy stuff, he will write on the heavy side with either band because that’s where his musical direction goes. Picasso had a pink period and a blue period, but it was still Picasso. Which picture will end up on your bedroom wall is anybody’s choice, but no one would have asked of the „blue“ Picasso to paint a pink one again. Artists create from their soul, not on demand, so we’re going to get what’s inside Ronnie, either way.

Let’s just appreciate it while it lasts.

No, I do not see you killing the thread but yes I am simply appreciating it while it lasts. Was I disappointed with the Holy Diver tour? Yes, I was. I thought it was a pure money grab plus US fans never got to see the tour. Oh we get a DVD. My thoughts of the time were we got the shaft on that and felt he could had went back into the studio during that time and made a new album. Heaven and Hell surprised me but again how is it constructive to constantly bitch about it. It is not like I cannot be seen as a professional bitcher. The world has shitloads of stress and imperfections in it. In the end I only screw myself up by constantly bitching about it since I personally cannot make changes to it. Only Ronnie can in this instance.

Hate to break up a good debate with a simple opinion, but I always liked Killing The Dragon. And as far as the original poster's take on Strange Highways, when I'm in the mood for it, it is the greatest thing I've ever heard. But I have to be in the mood for it.

Personally i loved KTD. There were only a few tracks that wasn't that great. ''Along comes a spider'' comes to mind. Overall i thought that KTD had plenty of energy and good riffs.

If i had to choose one album as Dio's worst it's deffinatly Sacred Heart. That record was just dreadful

Cool Worst ever? Not a chance. I go back (i was around 17 at the time) to the original DIO release "HOLY DIVER." "Killing the Dragon" is an evolution of the different DIO bands and it ROCKS. That Dio was able to last this long since its conception is a testament to the bands GREATNESS!

imo the worst Dio albums are Angry Machines and Master of the moon, but in this context "the worst" means maybe a 8/10 points...
Killing The Dragon is really great album, brilliant melodies, vocal lines and "SCREAM"!!!
