while having a look through my Dio collection i worked out it has been 4 long years since we had the last album.
its not the 1st time that we have had a lay off like this .
the 1st time was between Lock up the wolves and strange highways. the reason was the Sabbath reunion and then putting a whole new band together.
the next 4 year lay off was between angry machines and magica. i can't see a reason beyond the fact that they stayed on the road for quite a while after. then there was a totally new band put together again.
this current lay off seems a bit more strange. I know we've ost a year because of this latest Sabbath thing. Anybody know what the hell is going on. The band are sitting there waiting to go so there isnt that excuse this time? |

Come on give Ronnie a break ...this was a long tour,he deserves to put his feet up,sorting out studio time, touring and getting everyone in the same place at the right time is sometimes not easy...you know how it works.
I look at this way... it maybe 4 years since Master of the Moon but its not 4 years since Ronnie last performed...we all want to see the band on the road and for me thats the main thing. |

The band toured the MOTM album - then did the holy diver in its entirity tour and the Ronnie Did the Heaven & Hell tour.....hes back on the road in May (in the UK) So you can hardly say the band/Ronnie have been doing nothing!! Although I agree a new album is due!! _________________ Stand up and Shout!!!!! |

I believe we will see an album out by Heaven and Hell before we see the next CD in the Magica trilogy we have been promised.
Too bad. I enjoyed the Magica story, and was curious how the stories would be evolving.
Any new Dio would be nice, though. Saw him on tour with Heaven and Hell. Dio keeps up his stamina on stage after all of these years. _________________ Ronnie James Dio is a legend |

He did 3 new excellent songs in 2007. Some cool DVDs came out. Can't complain. New Sabbath out this year. I don't want to pressure active artists, not until after 5 years or so. The time between albums must bring quality, contemplation and no rushy, half hearted decisions!
Under whatever banner, Dio has always delivered regularly some stuff. |

Hey,
At this point it's better he tours than spend his time on new material. There's plenty of different songs to play live. Lets enjoy him playing live when we can because it is magical when he's on stage.
