Oh dear God...this is my favorite...well, one of my favorite subjects...
I would suggest going on Amazon.com and getting the Elf collection first. It's the one with Carolina County Ball , L.A. 59 , Rocking Chair Rock N Roll Blues , When She Smiles and a lot more ...Great, Great music.
If you love Ronnie's voice, you will melt into whatever you are sitting on and think you have died and gone to heaven. Oh my God...the song Happy will blow your mind...like I said, if you love his voice. It is like butter...The first few times I listened to it, I litterally didn't shut my mouth for the whole song...
Just listen to that whole CD...I don't like Rainy Days, but just about all the other ones are great. Then the song Nevermore from the first Elf album I believe, is freaking awesome!!
I love Elf...I love Rainbow, Sabbath and Dio, but I really love Elf alot... _________________ "...you were a fool but that's cool, it's alright!" |

it's decent, not their best song, not their worse...
comes off what is most likely the best Elf album though, the eponymous one. _________________

I have to agree, not their best song, but disagree that it's the best album...It does have Nevermore, which is a f'ing masterpiece, IMO, but I like the songs on the Elf Collection CD which has CCB and Trying to Burn the Sun...Annie New Orleans is a better song, IMO than Hoochie Koochie Lady. But hey, that's the great thing about RJD, there is so much to like and something for everyone _________________ "...you were a fool but that's cool, it's alright!" |

aye, "Annie New Orleans" is an amazing song, and I was coutning all three albums separately
But, to me with songs like "I'm Coming Back For You" (love that riff) and "Nevermore" along with all the other tunes which are pretty much good/great that is just listens better than some of the material on the 2nd and 3rd albums. _________________

Dio was at his best Vocaly and as a lyricist when fronting Rainbow IMO, Ritchie Blackmore Cozy Powell Ronnie James Dio all in one band its like the perfect group. _________________

| Best Rainbow songs without a doubt are Never More, Gambler, Gambler and Streetwalker. Those 3 are Dio at his best. |
