Where do you think those bands got there influence from? All of them have stated Elvis as an influence on their careers. Remember Elvis was in the 50's, thats when masturbating caused hair to grow on your hands or getting semen on your dress got you pregnant! Rock and Roll was at its earliest stages and Elvis was the forfront of it. I am NOT an Elvis fan..but hey, credit where credit is due. _________________ The world is full of kings and queens,

...Elvis Grabbed the Ball from Black Rhythm & Blues Players RockerBob...as did the Stones across the sea etc...(only they actually wrote some great music) ...Ever hear of the "CrossRoads"???...Robert Johnson sold his F**Kin soul so that Elvis could Run-off with all the Money Bro!... ...Think about it for a minute...What Did Elvis Compose that was anything beyond Childsplay?!...Actually I think his Lil' old band from Memphis probably did most of the Work...But hey he could really make those Girls Cry "back then"... ...If He were starting out today he probably wouldn't get a second look!...He's an American Icon to People who dont know what really makes music tick,a modern day Bret Michaels if you will... ...King of Rock & Roll???...I say Hell No...That should be Ronnie's Title!!!... |

AEROSMITH! Just always loved that band, and they had such a bad reputation for being drunken messes on stage I just never went.
Then by the time they cleaned up I was kind of out of that phase!
Too bad. Maybe someday. _________________ Bass guitarists hold it all together. |

Elvis wa more than just a guy singing Black music. He had a magic in his persona, that has never been duplicated. The industry has tried, but never since Elvis has one man captivated music fans to the extent of Elvis. In fact he still has a hold on the music world like no other, and he's been dead for over 30 yrs. _________________ Check out Al Diamond Phillips/Nevermet on the web

Strangely, that is my last rock show. I have the "Brutal Planet" CD (released back in 2000) and it is KILLER! If you haven't heard it, check it out! One of my choices for never got to see show (i was only 8 back in 1973) would be Montrose! "Rock the Nation" is a classic hard rock song. _________________ "The old ones speak of winter, the young ones praise the sun and time just slips away..." |

Yeah me too! While B. Johnson KICKS ASS! Seeing AC/DC's original singer would have been way cool!
I'll add a couple more never got to sees. The Doobie Brothers and Foghat back in the 70's. I bet both were great LIVE! _________________ "The old ones speak of winter, the young ones praise the sun and time just slips away..." |

if i'm only counting bands i could have seen if i'd got my finger out and gone...
the ramones
soundgarden (although with cornell's solo career going the way it is a reunion may still happen).
iron maiden with blaze, just out of curiosity, similarly judas priest with tim owens (to see those great players in smaller venues would have been a treat). |
